I cleaned my greasy stained hands on my blue maxi dress leaving an odd stain. Now I don't only look like an outcast, I look like a four years old. Thank heavens for the free chicken stand in the park for kids. I trotted toward a warmer region of the park with less people and sat down on the grassy ground. The sky had turned grey.
"Rain. Why?" I sighed to myself. I laid against the grass staring up at the sky. Why am I even here? Oh yeah. I needed space and that's why I'm seating lonely on the ground of this cold park. The sky rumbled and parents started leading their children away. In all the commotion and movements, I sat still on the grass staring right ahead of me. My dad couldn't be the culprit. I won't believe it until I've asked him myself.
I really need to be a doubting thomas right now because I can't just face the fact that my dad was...using me? Urgh!!
I shut my eyes as the sky released cool liquids on my face. The drizzle came down on me and I shivered but for a reason, I couldn't get up. The cold feeling was setting my blazing nerves at ease.
I thought about calling my dad now but remembered I didn't bring my phone out with me. What a stupid move. And what about Damien? How's he doing? Is he loosing his shit over me not being around. It's selfish to say but I'd love to know he actually cares. And I'm sure I'll get an earful when I see him. I wrapped my arms closer around myself. What about my mom. does she know about all these?
"Jay!"
I sat upright immediately looking into the far distance. I noticed a tall man in loose pants and a white shirt skipping towards me. He was in a grey cardigan. Damien!. I got up quickly, didn't move an inch. Just waited for him to get to where I stood so I could hear him thunder out but he pulled me in a hug. My hands stood limb by my side.
"You're shaking" he took his cardigan of placing it on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry" I said nimbly. Damien stroke my face.
"Let's get you out of this rain first. He pulled me into his arms and carried me. I wanted to have space but I'm well happy he came for me. Happy that he's here right now. We stopped at his car. He opened the door helping me into the backseat then he sat beside me. The driver started off.
Damien pulled me so close to him no space was remaining. He kept kissing my head and hugging me tight and I felt bad about making him worry now. We arrived back at the hotel and once more, I was in Damien's arms again.
When we got to our suite, Chloe rushed to hug me but Damien didn't let go off me.
"I'm fine now" I said I tell him.
"No you're not. I'll get the shower running" he glared at Chloe before walking off. My best friend made no time in engulfing me.
"Oh sweetie you scared me"
"I'm sorry. I just needed to get away" I shrugged. Chloe batted her lashes.
"Get away from what?"
"We'll talk about it later" sighing, I flopped on the bed forgetting I'm all soaked up so I got up quickly, slipping but fell into Damien's arms. For the third time today.
"I'll see you tomorrow dear" Chloe kissed my cheek, exchanging a weird glare with Damien before exiting the suite. He started helping me out of my clothes, oddly quiet tonight.
"You're not mad?" I asked in a hushed voice.
"No. I understand why you left, Jay and I'm sorry"
I nodded, short of words. Something definitely happened while I was gone.
"But I'm slightly mad" he jolted. There we go. I thought it wasn't coming. Damien helped me out of my last piece of clothing and then carried me to the bathroom. He deposited me in the tub and then started taking his own clothes off.
"Slightly" I whispered. He slid into the tub behind me and then pulled me to him.
"Never run away like that again Jay. You scared me."
"I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking . I just needed to leave at that moment" I shrugged.
"Next time, think. You endangered your health and our baby's. What if I hadn't found you in that rain. You would've fainted or worse, caught a cold.!" Damien said in an audible voice.
"Your mad aren't you?"
"Stop asking me that" he scolded.
I turned to face him, straddling him. "I'm really sorry Damien"
He sighed and held me to him. As we sat in the tub in silence, he seemed to zone off into space.
"I'm sorry you had to hear about your dad that way" he finally spoke up. My whole body ran cold remembering why I ran away.
"My dad didn't do it. There's got to be an explanation to all of these" I plead. I felt tears building behind my eyes Damien sensed it and hugged me.
"I wish there was a better explanation" he croaked. I got up abruptly. I'm sick of all these I need to call my dad now. I stepped out of the tub and into the bedroom. I grabbed my phone from my bed side dialing my dad's number but Damien snatched the phone away.
"What are you doing?
"I need to talk to my dad!" I sobbed.
"If you want to talk to him, you need to do it in person!" Damien said raising his voice and something in me snapped.
"Stop it! All of you need to stop treating me like a child..!"
"Jay...."
"All I had to do was be a good girl since I was little but now I'm grown, Damien. I don't need anyone telling me what to do and I don't want you treating me like a trophy wife!" I yelled in anger. I snatched the phone from him and punched my dad's number.
"I don't treat you like a trophy wife" Damien said. A little bit calm.
"Oh yes you do. And I get the reason I'm here with you right now is to strengthen the tie between my dad's company and yours. Now I feel like I'm married to you because my dad wanted to steal from you!" I sat on the bed and broke down into tears. My world seemed to be coming apart in just one night. How cruel is life? It's like I have every decision that was ever made for me thrown back in my face. I'm the middleman in all of these.
The side of the bed crumpled as Damien sat beside me.
"So what are you saying?" He asked.
"I'm saying I'm tired of all these." The tears kept pouring out. "I'm tired of being everyone's errand girl cause that's what it feels like. Be good for daddy and mommy when I was little and now be good for you"
Damien placed his hands against his face and then breathed out.
"When I got married to you Jay I didn't see you as a little girl or some Trophy wife to just look good on my shoulder" he faced me. " I thought you were the most bravest woman I'd ever met"
"I wasn't brave Damien. I was scared"
"But you hid it. That's why your brave. I Admired you"
"Past tense?" I asked. He said admired. What does he feel now.
"Yes. Admired. Cause now, I just love you so much, it's scary"
I broke into sobs as Damien placed a kiss to my lips then he drew back and looked at me in the eyes."Jay I love you" he repeated. I flung my arms round his shoulder, sighing into his neck. His hands rubbed my back gently. How long has it been that I've been waiting to hear that from him."You mean it?" My voice was highly squeaky but who cares. Damien just said he loves me.He placed his hand on my still flat tummy. "You and this baby are my life now" he smiled and drew me to him hugging me tight. I relaxed into him inhaling his scent. It didn't matter to me that I and Damien where seating naked on our bed discussing and making out. Oh the joy that's ringing through my head right now.Damien capture my face in his hands rubbing my chin. His eyes for the first time since I've known him, full of love and adoration. Full of sincerity and commitment. Full of happiness and peace. I kissed his Palm. "I
"Don't blame me if I can't keep my hands off you tonight" Damien said. He came and stood in front of me. His eyes staring at me in admiration and love. "You're a goddess" he murmured in my ears making me giggle. He led me to his Limo opening the door for me and then got in. Damien pulled me closer to him grazing his hands along my bare arm."I can't believe you're making me go to a fashion show" he grumbled against my neck. "All I wanted to do was stay in the suite with you and have champagne" he nuzzles my neck sniffing me and I chuckled. I glanced the drivers way to see him focused on the road but I know that's not the case. Damien noticed where I was looking at and pressed a button closing us from the driver."Wise thinking" I grinned and Damien smirked. "I don't like sharing" his lips attacked my neck in an instant and I pulled his head away gently."I'm not sure Chloe would love m
Damien held me to his side possessively and I must say, I love this new side to him."Bethany, this is my wife, Jaycee" he introduced. Although his smile didn't quite reach his eyes as he stated at the woman, I could see they were not in good terms.Bethany forced a smile on her face."Charmed" she said taking my hands in what is supposed to be a handshake but I felt like she was squeezing my hands and grinning. I pulled away quickly as if I were burned."I can see why Damien is so struck with you" Bethany cooed it was obvious even her compliment to me was a flirt with Damien. She kept giving him those long side glance and grinning. I felt like gauging her eyes out and feeding her. Christ! Where'd that come from."And she's even more beautiful tonight" Damien kissed my forehead and then pulled me away. He rubbed my arms worryingly as if apologising for Bethany's presence. I just smiled at
So much for trusting Damien. He pours out his love to me and then when his ex fiance shows, he goes running to her. Right under my nose. For the tenth time, I stomped my feet impatiently and angrily on the floor. The hotel attendant looked at me with concern but I smiled. A smile that didn't quite reach the eyes."Here's the key to your hotel room. How long would you be staying?"I plan on going back to our suite to grab my things but I'm scared I'll be met with Damien's face. I wonder what lie or explanation he'd give when I see him. Of course I'll see him. I deserve an explanation, not just now- I'm mad at him. Beyond mad at him."A night" I said collecting my keys and walking away. Tomorrow , I'm setting my course for home. And when I say home, I mean home. I actually miss my mom and would love to see her right now. I need someone to pour my heart to. Not Chloe. She'd murder Damien. Mom is more understanding. And the
We arrived from Paris on Monday. I wanted to go home straight but Damien said to take a few days to calm myself down. He was right. If I have to see my dad in this rage, I'll probably hate myself later on.A knock on my bedroom door startled me. I covered myself up with the blanket."Come in"The door cracked opened revealing Mrs Rose. The house help. Damien had left for work. I guess we're back to this. I'll hardly see him now. As much as my time in Paris wasn't pleasant, it brought me closer to Damien and I couldn't be anymore happier."Good morning madam" Rose stood by my side with a smile plastered on her face."Rose. How was your weekend?""I should ask you that ma'am" she dropped a basket of clean bedsheets. "Mr Forrest said to change the sheets"I groaned inwardly. Damien didn't have to do that. Since we got married, I've been changing the sheets. E
Immediately after the meeting with CO pets and store, I retired back to my office. I wasn't feeling all that good. Maybe, it's because I stood for a very long time. A story Damien wouldn't really love. Tanya came into my office with a big goody smile."Someone's here to see you" she stepped out of the way and there was my mom opening her arms to me. I leaped from my seat and into them. I can't believe she's here. She's really here."I'll be off soon" Tan reminded me before walking away. "Nice to see you Mrs Roberto""As well, Tanya" my mom smiled at my friend."What are you doing here mom?"She immediately looked offended. "So I can't visit my daughter?" She asked with a raised brow."Of course you can mom. It's just.....you came all the way from London. You didn't tell me you were coming" now I was the one sounding offended. She soothed my already clean hair. That's my mom for you. Perfection. She always vouches for it."Your dad and I are just taking this week off of work" Mom took t
I fixed the last of my pin when Damien walked in. He stopped by the door staring at me through the mirror. His face masked with what was running through his mind right now, and that made me smirk. He walked over to me and placed a hand on my tummy."I love you in this dress" he whispered behind my ear. Goosebumps rose all over my skin."You pretty much love anything I wear" I couldn't hide the smug look on my face."You're right. But I never thought you could look so extremely sexy in green"I stared at my dress in the mirror. It was green alright. A silk green dress that just reached to my knee. The back was covered and so was the front. It's a dinner with my parent not a party. I got to dress descent."Your starting to show" Damien ran his hands around my stomach. His hot breath fanned my voice hotly. I leaned into him and taking in his cologne that smells so nice, manly and conforting."We're going to be late" I remind him. He pressed a kiss to my cheek and then walked us out of the
Damien immediately put his arms round me for protection. We all watched as a tall man in police uniform entered the house. My mom looked confused and my dad......well the same thing. Only relaxed."Officer. How may I help you?" My dad asked."We received a search warrant to check your house for files" the man lifted his ID card indicating his an official officer. My dad nodded without any complaint. The man called his men and soon, they were moving around the house."What is going on?" Mom asked dad. He just shrugged. I think this is the time to address the elephant that's been in the room."Dad. Trails of theft was found with you. " I said mildly not to cause a scene and draw the officers to us. Mom gasped and dad looked confused."What?" He almost roared but I clinged to his shirt begging him to tell me that it's not true."Recently, someone has been stealing shares from my company. It was traced to your account" Damien said. Dad shook his head. Mom was crying."And you believe I'll
