Ch.6 - "You're playing with fire, love. I'd better stop if I were you."

I think I just met a bipolar human. Because, one moment, he’s all smiling. Next, he makes it sinister. Messing with my head, making me think bad things are about to happen.

When he’s face came to the awareness of the dim lit room, I felt totally screwed because I had messed with him. Twice.

Fucking twice. First at the strip club. Next, at his office. I almost killed his slut that he definitely paid for. Four words. Only four words rung through my head. I was so dead.

“Now I’m going to say this only once, Energia.” He threatened.

“Serena.” I corrected. Even though I was tied down to a chair, I wasn’t going to cower to being called my strip name when I wasn’t even in the club.

“It’s Serena.” I confirmed again.

“Ah, Serena.” He said. Goose pimples formed on my skin at the way my name rolled off his tongue. “But I prefer Energia.”

The words register through my bones, leaving me insulted. Who was this man whore in front of me?

Why didn’t I just sit at home like a normal human instead of going to a lion’s den to apologize?

“Who sent you here? Who are you working for?”

My eyes almost pop out of my eyes. What did he fucking mean by that?

“Says the man who took my job from me. I work for no one.” I replied truthfully.

I wasn’t some spy employed by anyone. So, I’d rather go back home quietly.

“You lie.” He seethed. I’m quick to notice his heavenly lips and his clean-shaven jaw. It all complemented his raven hair as it was combed to a side, almost covering one of his eyes.

Wetness pool my legs with desire.

“I’m not.” I really don’t know why I’m not trying to defend myself. The Serena I knew would have hopped the chair forward, threw tantrums until she was released. But, I didn’t do any of that.

And then it hit me.

The receptionist. I could tell him to ask her if what I said was true or not.

“Stop that.” He suddenly snapped. His stubbed jaw looked like he was contending with something. For a moment, I thought I saw his eyes dilate. Guess, my migraine led me to imagining things.

“I didn’t quite catch that.” I said. I silently wondered what he was talking about.

“Don’t drool over me to distract me.” I feel a surge of anger radiate through my soul.

“What? Why would I drool over you at this situation?” I asked firmly.

“I think we both know the answer to that. If you find me attractive, Energia, you’ll have to wait. Cause now isn’t the right moment when I’d fuck you.”

My stomach knot more with butterflies. I couldn’t help but picture the exact scene of what he said.

I felt giddy all over. It was all because of his words. But, if I wanted to leave here, I had to exercise self-control.

“Excuse me?” I said formally.

“Look, I’m not a spy. If you don’t believe me, you could ask your ginger head receptionist. I had come here to apologize about what I did the other day.” I admitted hoping he would believe me.

He looked unconvinced. From the way he appeared, something at the back of my head told me I had to work more at my persuasion skills cause I wasn’t leaving here anytime soon.

“Enlighten me, Energia.” I look down in frustration. He moves forward and begins to untie my hands. Guess he had begun to trust me now. I breathe relief as soon as my hands are freed.

“I had taken your address to tell you that whatever happened that day was absurd. I’ve never behaved like that. Ever! I don’t know what came over me. And, for that. For hitting your wife, I’m sorry.” I said.

My voice went well with the situation. I hoped he believe me.

First, I never apologized.

Okay, I did.

But only when I was at fault. I could apologize for beating that slut he had fucked. But, not for slapping him that day at the strip club.

“And why should I accept your apology?”

I looked around, searching for answers. The dim light from the window was beginning to get bright. Morning was far approaching and I had barely started my search on a job.

“Just let me go. You’ve got the wrong girl. I won’t interfere in your life again. I won’t even facetime you. It’ll be like we never met each other.” I pleaded.

I felt like a sorry case. A total sorry case. But, at this point, I knew my chances of escaping were low. Not with the bouncers he had outside. I couldn’t forget how they drugged me yesterday.

My stomach churned.

And, fuck. I was hungry.

It grumbled out again. Gosh, did that just happen?

“A little hungry, are we?” He taunted. I could see his slim fit pants as he drew closer which complimented his oxford shoes. Oh, goddess of Lady Gaga. Get me out of here.

I decided to play his game.

“Yeah, and I need to feed, daddy.” I mocked out.

Now I was sure I didn’t see wrong. I saw his pupils dilate. He slowly retreated back.

“You are playing with fire, love. I’d better stop if I were you. Cause you’ve got no idea how I could feed you in different ways.” He completed.

I hear footsteps thud. Luca was heading out the door. I silently wondered if he was going to let me go.

If he did, I’ll never make the mistake of crossing his path again. Neither would I be taken captive again because of my stupidity. I thought of Calily. My headache had begun to wear off. And, my eyes were better now. Calily was going to be so worried.

Another man entered the room minutes later. He brought a meal with a tag on it.

‘Just to let you know Energia, I have no wife. But won’t mind making you mine.’

I almost spill the contents of food I had started eating. I knew that I could have been poisoned. But, after thinking of what benefit would it be of him to poison me, I ate all.
