Especially the ones who attended my parent's business gatherings. Who even visited a house just to talk about boring stuff? More importantly, why did my parents even bother arranging such events?

Adult get togethers were so boring.

That's what happened this evening. Mom told me that they basically came back early from their trip only because some of their friends and clients were coming over for dinner at our house. And just the mention of their clients told me how much dull it was going to be.
