Zoey POV

My heartbeat raced as I laid beside Xander whose arms are still holding me tightly. He has asked me on a date some time ago and after that, we both have been laying silently in each other’s embrace. His embrace was like a protecting shield keeping me away from all the sadness and stress.

I was busy reveling in his embrace when suddenly Emma’s face flashed in front of my eyes and I shot up from the bed with panic all over my face. Xander followed my lead and looked at my distressed state with concern. “Is everything alright?” He asked softly.
