Monique knew he had been talking about what happened earlier. She paused, and sighed, “I’m not a self-righteous person, I’m just aware of what it means for a girl to lose her university education.”

“What does it mean?” Henry looked up, he had a curious look on his face. Their distance was close, and their gaze were fixed on each other. His eyes had been filled with gentleness while he looked at her, Monique’s heartbeat suddenly raced, and her face turned red.

She turned and looked out the window, as if she had been looking at a place far away, “I dropped out of university, I was alone when I left the campus, and I was bearing little Angel at that time…”

Monique paused and looked up at the sky. Tears rolled down her eyes, she wanted to hold her tears. She looked out the window and said it as if it had been another person’s story, about the loneliness and hardship she endured for the past few years. It had been heart wrenching.
