Chapter Eighteen: The strange wolf in the forest

I kept on hearing his powerful voice in my head. "If anyone hurt you, you know where to find me." I froze, staring at the closed door. I did not know what to make of it, but being around him gave me a strange, unusual feeling, as if I had found someone who loved me and a place I could call home.

At first, I was terrified of him, but when he talked, his powerful voice gave me a soothing feeling. I felt that I should stay with him and never leave him. I felt safe with him. I touched the door, running my hand across it, feeling the hardness and the scratch marks which were created by him.

I started to wonder why Francine was so terrified of me entering his cell. What if the Alpha had locked him up inside, just like my evil grandmother had done to me and wanted everyone to believe that he was evil?

I knew how it felt to be locked up, to be away from everyone and how terrible it was being alone and only meeting the walls of the room every day.
