Chapter 5 Heiress

“Mommy” her son said while looking at her. Her aching heart quickly calmed after seeing her son worried about her, she always felt blessed having such a smart child as a son, he is the only source of strength she got left and won’t be able to handle it if something happens to him.

Reaching for her phone in her pocket, Yana immediately called for her lawyer. She had no plans of getting inside the restaurant and letting her son watch his father cheat on his mother. She can endure things but her son is a different story. Such filthy things should not dirty her son's heart nor mind, she swore to protect him from the pain and she is hoping that when he grows up, he will be a great man who knows loyalty and respect.

Walking back to her car Yana immediately called her lawyer to change the place, although it was a little bit of a hassle but he quickly agreed to it after hearing her reasons. Tomas McGrath is very talented and a rare one among his peers. one of the youngest lawyers in the history of America. He graduated at the age of 20 and had to wait another year to be admitted to the bar. McGrath came from a prominent family which gave him an advantage in landing a job. In his 10 years of law practice, Tomas McGrath was able to represent important people with the likes of the president of various countries and prominent individuals. Currently, if someone wanted to hire him, then it would cost them parts of their body.

Yana was the one who earned his trust after she helped him one time from danger and the scornful looks of the people who were too insecure. Yana helped him gain his confidence and grew his network with her help. Later after he became a lawyer he proposed to work as her personal lawyer.

“What happened?” Tomas asked the moment he sat on his seat. “If you ever want to file an annulment, we can easily use this as evidence of their adultery. Yana, you lived with them for years you and the helpers in your house could be witnesses and also if we could only get a picture or a video of them doing something or you seeing them doing the deed.” Yana could only nod her head and keep silent; she was reluctant to say that she witnessed them last night but just did not make a fuss about it. She believes that even if she wrecks their whole house, she won't achieve anything because it was already done. The least thing she thinks she could do is silently retreat and ask for annulment. As someone honed as the future heiress of the Delaney Empire, she knew better than to cause a scene and make a fool out of her family.

Entering the tall building Yana glanced at the people who were occupied with their stuff and decided to observe the employees working. For years that she was not around, Yana has to start from the beginning and knowing the people under her is one of the best steps to start if she wants to take her company back.

Xuan is a good CEO but what the company needs is someone who will help it rise and not just maintain its standing.

Watching the people run around the place, Yana took note of those who did a good job and also the ones who were slacking off. For minutes that she was roaming around the place, some of them noticed her, and one of those does not mean well. A man who was slightly fat but his tall stature made him look a little better. Making his way towards Yana while fixing his slightly crooked tie, smiling maliciously as he stood in front Yana.

“Hey there, are you new here? I am the team leader of the planning department, if you join me later for a drink, I might help you quickly have a place here. So, what do you think? “Yana chuckled then watched him get cocky and spout nonsense. Thinking that her silence was her approval, he then shamelessly put his arm over her shoulder and guided her towards his office. The other employees could only shake their head for they thought that another newbie became this man’s prey.

“Have a seat, why don't you introduce yourself to me?” he said and sat on his swivel chair before smoothly grabbing a cigar and started smoking.

“Why don’t you tell me yours first mister?” Yana played along and smiled coquettishly. Seeing her respond to him like that, the man felt even more proud.

“Ryan Teal, Team Leader of the Planning department and I am the nephew of Director Saragossa, so if you need someone who has connections up there, then you got a good catch.” Turning his swivel chair towards the other direction while looking at Yana with suggesting eyes, he then rubbed his thigh and smiled at her. “Why don't we skip things and just do what we both agreed to do?” he added.

Smiling at him sweetly, Yana then fished her phone in her pocket and signaled that she will just take a call first.

“Hello, yes… can you send me the details about Director Saragossa… yes… I am at the planning department team leader’s office… I will give you 5 minutes to do it, a second off then you will be joining them for their resignation party… your time starts now.” Hearing the overbearing call that Yana made, Ryan felt that there was something wrong with everything. The thought that he just made a big mistake was silently haunting his being. But remembering that the woman clearly does not look like someone who has a high and important position at the company.

He watched her as she set up a timer and sat on the couch proudly, and the confident look on her face was the one that made everything even more nerve wracking. 5 seconds left and Ryan can already hear the ruckus outside his office.

The timer sounded and there was silence inside the now cold room, it was as if the temperature dropped down and became gloomy at Ryan’s side while Yana’s was bright and warm. Slightly making an annoyed sound, Yana tapped her fingers at the mini table in front of her and stayed still when the door was flung open.

Standing with a neat suit and slightly tired face, Ji Xuan stared at the woman who was leisurely tapping a rhythmic sound with a slight smile on her lips. “Sir Ji, I-”

“Yana, what are you doing here? Where have you been?” Xuan asked and stood there awkwardly as if he was some stranger who does not know what to do.

“CEO Ji, it was nice of you to drop by, as per what I could remember, I clearly instructed your secretary to come, not you. If you have anything to say to me, please apply for an appointment, now if you excuse me, I have to change things here in my company. It appears that some rats are letting snakes dirty my castle.” Yana said while not forgetting to glanced around the whole place and looked at Ryan meaningfully. “Secretary Lee, you're 15 seconds, knowing that CEO Ji must've troubled you, then I will deduct 3 seconds from it. Now you decide for your future. It's either you work for 12 more weeks and resign after or deduct 12 digits on your salary and continue working after.”

“Please deduct it from my salary madam, I will strive to do better from now on.” the man said while courteously bowing his head. Amused to his decision, Yana nodded. “Then start working under me, I will leave quite a lot of work to you from now on, and your salary will depend on your performance, how's that my dear?” she added and asked Xuan as if asking him about some trivial matters and not stealing his trusted secretary from him. Speechless, Xuan does not even know what to feel or say but just stood there stupidly.

“Yan, let’s talk” “Please come to my secretary for an appointment, CEO Ji” Yana replied and smiled at him before focusing on the file given to her.

“It seems your little escapade has become quite a habit, Sir Teal? Ahh look at that, you had a great time with her, ooh that's some stamina you got there?” Yana mocked as she scanned through the photographs compiled.

“Who are you?” Due to shock, Ryan Teal could not utter anything at all besides asking who she was. She giggled and acted a little embarrassed. “How silly, the name’s Allana. Allana Delaney. President, the major shareholder and specifically the legal owner of this company. It was nice to meet you.” Yana said while scrutinizing the whole room, through her peripheral vision, she could see the other employees who had gathered outside the office gasp and looked stupidly flabbergasted whispering that ‘she's back’, or ‘the heiress is back.’.

Yes, the queen is back, so to those who had calculated her, they better prepare themselves.
