Five

After Emma left the loft, Damian cleaned everything as he cursed Avery every time he got the occasion. When he finished, he sat in the living room to check his mails on his laptop. He decided to look for his things the day after because it was already late and cold outside.

After a while, he heard Avery talking to someone. He sighed and headed to his room, but stopped in front of the door when he heard her giggling snd talking to someone sweetly through the phone.

I missed you too!”

Of course I always think about you!”

What am I wearing? Um, just a black sweater.”

Oh don't say that! You're making me shy.”

Damian frowned and clenched his fists.

Nate fucking Walker.

Avery was usually quiet or shy and seeing this side of her was unusual to Damian. He didn't hate it, but he didn't like it because she was acting like this with someone else. Someone who didn’t deserve her.

“Hey, Dam!”

After a long annoying phone call— according to Damian— Avery finally got out of her room, with messy hair and red cheeks.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, sitting next to him and taking a look at his work.

“I started living here,” Damian mumbled coldly.

“What?”

“You made your roommate run away. Now, I'm replacing her.”

“Emma? She left?!” Avery widened her eyes. “Why?”

“Why?” Damian scoffed. “Your eight years old personality created the biggest mess ever.”

“Oh,” Avery rubbed his neck. “I'm so sorry for Emma,” she pouted. “I should call her.” she sighed. “You're my roommate now?”

Damian nodded.

“Well, it's better than Emma,” Avery grinned and hugged him. “I always wanted to share an apartment with my best friend!”

“Hey! Let go of me!”

“Why? I know you like my hugs, Dam,” Avery giggled.

“Go hug your Nate.”

“Aw yeah, I will,” Avery smirked. “He asked me to meet tomorrow after classes.”

Damian frowned and started tapping his keyboard strongly.

Avery's phone vibrated on the table. The screen lightened up and it showed a text from Emmett.

“Avery, come outside.”

“I wonder if he needs something.” Avery furrowed her eyebrows and got up to put on her denim jacket.

“You're going out in this cold? Can't he wait until tomorrow?” Damian asked.

“He came all the way here. I can't send him back.” Avery smiled before closing the door after her.

Damian sighed and lied his head on the couch, remembering the blush on Emmett's face earlier when he mentioned talking to Avery.

He stood up and walked to the window. He saw Emmett waiting, and holding a red box.

Avery showed up and gave him a small hug. Damian opened the window despite the cold to listen to their conversation.

“Avery, I was worried because you didn't come to classes.” Emmett started.

“I was just a little bit tired. Sorry for worrying you.” Avery smiled.

“I hope you'll get well soon,” Emmett said. “I got your favourite chocolate,” he gave her the box.

“Hazelnut chocolate!” Avery widened her eyes. “How do you know it's my favourite?!”

Emmett shyly rubbed his head. “I always see you eating it when you're stressed. You must have been very stressed with the finals, so I thought about buying it for you.”

“Aw thank you, Emmett!”

“My pleasure Avery,” Emmett patted Avery's head. “You look so cute with your pyjama.” He mumbled shyly.

“Uh?” Avery looked at her sweater. “Thanks.” she smiled.

“I don't want you to get cold, so I'll get going. See you tomorrow Avery!”

“See you!”

“Huh!” Damian, who witnessed everything, scoffed. “Huh!” he gulped, feeling his chest tighten. “This guy too?”

Avery entered quietly and headed to the bedroom.

After a while, she went back with a grey sweater and black pants.

“Here! You don't have any clothes, so you can borrow mine,” she told her best friend. “These are unisex, so I guess they’ll be comfortable.”

“Ah, thanks.”

“There is also a new toothbrush in the drawer.”

“Okay.”

“Do you want some chocolate? Hazelnut? Or not? You said you only like dark chocolate.”

“Yeah,” Damian mumbled.

“Good night, Dam.”

“Good night.”

The next morning, Damian got up early to take a shower and prepare breakfast for both of them.

He squeezed fresh oranges and mixed some eggs, milk, and flour to make pancakes.

“Good morning, sexy,” he heard a hoarse voice whisper in his ear, making him jump from surprise. “What the fuck Avery!” he shouted as he turned to face his best friend, who was smirking. She was only wearing her panties and bras. “Won't you wish me a good morning?”

“Wait. You're not Avery, right?” Damian asked, staring at the younger's dark eyes which were shooting him some seductive looks.

“Scarlett.” he sighed. “When did you come back?”

“The poor Avery had a bad dream yesterday night, that's why I'm here.” Scarlett said, “By the way, are you my new roommate?” she smirked, taking a sip of the orange juice.

“Yeah.”

“Nice. Very nice.”

“I think I'm the only one who can handle this change of personalities.”

“Mm,” Scarlett rubbed her chin. “But I don't think you'll be able to handle me, sweetheart.”

“Sw—what?” Damian furrowed his eyebrows.

“Because…” Scarlett approached him and kissed his bare neck. “You won't resist me,” she whispered before leaving to the living room.

Damian gulped and sighed deeply. “Holy shit.”

“Morning daddy! Illy jumped on Damian to hug him while he was having breakfast.

“Hey! I told you not to jump on me like this!”

It has been two weeks since Damian started living with the three personalities.
Sometimes he got to face an eight years old child, who only wanted to play and cling onto him. Other times he met the sassy Scarlett, who tried to seduce him the first second he appeared in front of her. She was a pervert of first-degree.

Sometimes, Damian forgot he was facing another person and almost failed at resisting Scarlett's touches, thinking it was Avery.

His happy days were when no weird personality appeared, and he liked it when the loft was peaceful and cosy when the normal Avery was there. They would spend their days watching TV, or Avery would lie on the bed watching him producing songs.

But it only happened two or three days before Avery started going on dates with Nate during evenings, or went to practice with Emmett at the dance studio at nights.

“Illy, we should get ready for the photoshoot, okay?”

“No! I don’t want to!” Illy pouted.

Today was the college photoshoot. They needed to wear fancy dresses or suits for this year's college photo book.

“I know,” Damian sighed. “It's not like I want to, but we need to do it, okay?”

“No...”

“Please, Illy,” Damian rubbed his head. “Do it for, uh, do it for daddy,” he cringed, but that's how it worked with Illy.

Illy pouted and stared at Damian with innocent eyes. “If daddy wants to, I'll do it,” she mumbled.

Damian smiled and ruffled her hair. “Daddy's happy,” he said.

“We look like married people! Let’s marry!” Illy shouted as she looked at them through the mirror. She was wearing a simple black dress above the knee, and Damian wore a black suit.

Damian laughed nervously. “Marry you?”

If Avery heard you, she would certainly end you, he thought.

“We can't marry, cutie,” Damian said.

“Why not?” Illy pouted. “They say that you should marry the one you love!”

“I know,” Damian smiled softly. He imagined him and Avery walking hand by hand down the aisle, making vows and promises and kissing like there is no tomorrow. He quickly shook this thought from his mind and cleared his throat, feeling his body getting hotter.

“Let me fix your collar,” Damian said, facing her.

While fixing it, Illy smirked and approached their faces. She closed her eyes and pecked his lips, making him widen his eyes and blush.

“W—why?!” Damian was taken aback. He never imagined the day Avery's lips would land on his would arrive someday. He never imagined how plump and soft they would feel.
He also felt sad because he knew it wasn't her. It wasn't Avery.

“I read in a book that you should kiss the one you love. And I love my daddy! Like a real adult!” Illy exclaimed proudly, not feeling the slightest ashamed for the action she just did.

She was only eight years old, and of course, she wouldn't realize it. And little did she know, her kiss made Damian's heart flutter.

“Wait for me here, okay? I'm going to the bathroom. Don't move!” Damian said before running, leaving a confused child inside a twenty-two years woman's body in the corridors of the music department.

“Aw, look who's looking hot in a dress!” Julie and her minions approached her. “It's been a long time since I last saw you, pretty girl.” she kissed her cheek, making her tense.

“Who are you?”

“What the hell?” Mary chuckled. “Already forgot your master?”

“Master?” Illy looked at them confusingly.

“I love it when you act innocent. I missed it quite a lot. You were kind of scary last time when you punched me.” Julie pouted. “It still hurts a lot.”

“Did you think we would let you go after hurting Julie?” Mary muttered. “You'll have to pay for it.”

“You look scary!” Illy started crying and distancing herself from the two girls staring at her dangerously.

“Aw, my baby girl is crying!” Julie faked a pouting face and smirked.

“No! No one calls me like this! Only Damian can!”

“Damian?!” the girls exclaimed. “You mean Damian Foster? That weird guy you always stick around with?”

“He's not weird!”

“Wait? He calls you baby girl?!” Mary scoffed. “What a pervert!” They burst out laughing.

“Man, I should have guessed it!” Julie smirked. “That's nice information, baby girl. But now, I need to have revenge for this,”

Her minions blocked Illy against the wall to let their master take care of her.

“I hope my punches won't hurt you a lot,” Julie said before punching her on the stomach.

Illy cried, “Please, no!”

“That was not enough baby girl.”

Before trying to punch her another time, a strong hand pushed her on the floor.

“The next time I see you landing your nasty hands on her, I will fucking kill you,” Damian muttered.

“Damian!” Illy grinned.

“What? Coming here to save your baby girl?” Julie smirked, rubbing the spot where she hurt her leg.

Damian blushed and checked Illy to see if she was hurt somewhere.

“We know you like her, Damian Foster,” Mary said.

“Shut the fuck up,” Damian muttered furiously.

“My head hurts!” Illy whined and collapsed on the floor.

“Avery! Are you okay!?” Damian knelt to check on her. “Avery!”

“My head...” Illy whispered before closing her eyes and reopening them after a few moments, to show two darker eyes.

“Illy—”

The girl stood up without struggles and ran her fingers in her dark.

She rolled up her dress sleeves and rubbed her hands. “Well, well. It’s time for some action now,” she smirked before punching on the face. “That's for that dirty mouth of yours!”

“And you!” she pointed at Julie, who looked horrified by the scene.
She approached her slowly and punched her stomach. “That's for touching this precious body!”

Scarlett clapped her hands with satisfaction and ran her fingers in her hair. She looked at Damian, who was staring at her with confusion, fear, and relief.

“Let's go, pretty boy,” she grabbed his arm and walked past the girls. “Serves them well!” she chuckled.

“Welcome back Scarlett.” Damian sarcastically said.

“Seems like you're happy to see me.” Scarlett rolled her eyes. “You should because I saved your and your baby girl's asses.” she chuckled.

“Hey!”

“I wonder what Avery's reaction will be though. Maybe she'll run away from you,” Scarlett rubbed her chin.

“Shut up,”

“But don't forget that as long as you are with me, you are my baby boy,” she whispered before kissing his nose. “See you!”

Damian wanted to scream like, but he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of everyone. “Why did I agree to help him with those personalities!”
