Chapter Twenty Seven

"Are you still going to give me the silent treatment?" My mom asked while I was packing the remaining of my stuff. I've been ignoring her for the past week and she knew she messed up big time. I wasn't ready to talk to her just yet.

"Come on, Becca. I'm leaving today and I really don't want things to be weird between us. Maybe we could sit down and talk like adults," she spoke again and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.

"What do you want me to say? That I forgive you for hiding something so huge from me?" I yelled, taking her by surprise.

"I was just trying to protect you, baby. I can't see you in pain and I knew how much you would have been hurt," she tried to explain and I interrupted her.

"Well, anybody would have been in pain if they lose their baby. It's not something unusual, mom. I don't care if it hurts me. Yes, shit happened and it's okay...I just want you to be honest with me. I mean, I can handle it
