LISA POV

Two weeks later

Emmett and I have been on three memorable dates. The mate bond is solid now. He isn't even able to stay away from the job site for more than two hours at a time. He seems tense until he sees me working.

Rogues have attacked Emmett's territory twice. After each attack, I have seen Clint drag a single wolf towards the packhouse. The wolf is ordinarily unconscious. Emmett informed me that the rogues are trying to recruit for their war with the hunters. After the last law was passed declaring wolves to be equal citizens, the number of hunters has tripled.

It makes my stomach turn that humans kill entire wolf families. They do not care what age; they only see an animal. How anyone could see an innocent child as an animal is beyond me. Emmett said hunters have not been a problem for his pack for many years. And rogues must just be getting desperate for new warriors.

Scott has been helping on the job site, but he doesn't visit the pack
