ELEVEN

I opened the dorm door and found two beds on either side of the room. There were two desks and a mini-fridge in the middle of the room. The room had its own bathroom and two windows behind both beds. College was going to be great. My best friend Christina was on her way to Florida right now. She was going to school with me and my father pulled strings for her and me to share the dorm room together. You have no idea how excited I am. It's been just shy of a year since my family and I moved here to Flordia.

The first six months of my life here was a dark downward spiral of depression. I was dealing with my accident and getting over the only man I had ever loved. I had lost so much weight that the doctors put me on a meal plan. My parents were beside themselves and we fought a lot. I had to do most of my classes over and once I started to pull myself out of it. Things took a good turn for me. I had to start college late, but here I am and life is going to be better
