Chapter 13: Healing Process

Vince’s POV

I was holding Crystal’s hand tightly, afraid that if I let go of her, I wouldn’t be able to support my own weight. Even after reaching into our room, I was walking back and forth holding her hand.

“Vince…” She commenced. I didn’t respond. I kept walking and dragging her with me. “Babe!” She called out louder this time around. She actually stopped and pulled me toward her, stupid wolf's strength.

I was afraid I was going to slip, but she caught me right on the spot, wrapping her arms around my waist and holding me against her. I tried to pull myself away, but I couldn’t. I didn’t realize when we landed on the bed because I struggled to get out of her grip. I saw Maya was at the surface and she looked concerned.

“You can talk to us, babe.”

I closed my eyes as I buried my face in the nape of her neck. I felt her hold me tightly. I cried silently in her arms as she caressed my hair gently, whispering soothing words in my ears.
