AKIRA’S CONFESSION
I looked around the empty benches while I fiddle with the ticket on my hand. It was at the middle of the month alright but still I didn’t know that even in hospitals during these time people were few.
“Number 33!” the lady on the third counter finally yelled out.
GUNGOES MISSINGInervously rocked my body back and forward while I fiddle with my hands. Thefootsteps approaching me caught my ear.“Anythingto drink?” he asked.Ilooked up at Plot’s dark brown eyes as he took a drink on his beer still withhis eyes focused on
REVENGEI followed the running sound of water and whistle. His bulky back with a bull tattoo faced straight at the gun’s barrel.“You don’t want do this” were his first words.“Shut it and move” I ordered.“Can you at least let me get my clothes before killing me” he said.“Shut it and walk” I said firmly. He slowly walked down the small passage into the lounge with his hands up.“Stop” I ordered. “Now slowly turn around.”He did as he was told but as soon as our eyes met he let out a loud laughter.“Shut it or I’ll blow your brains!” I snapped still with the gun pointing at his head.At that instant my hands were trembling crazily.“Go home kid whatever you are trying to do isn’t going to happen” he said lowering his hands.I pulled the trigger shooting at the vase
ACCEPTING PAIN, THE TRUTH HURTSI stared at the ceiling drinking beer with the gun on my left hand. I slowly moved my head to my dresser. I stared at the few pictures which were still stuck on the mirror. My eyes shifted toward Jin’s one.“I got him brother” I said as I pointed the gun at the mirror. “Now you can rest.”For some reason I felt like killing, killing everyone who had caused me pain. Suddenly I had a knock from the front door. I rapidly got up as I hid the gun under the pillow and the half-filled beer underneath the bed then limped out.I opened the door half way with the chain lock on.“Jack” I said in surprise.“Your face” he said in shock. “What happened?”“I fell” I lied as I opened the chain lock letting him inside.“You fell?” he asked as he took a sit on the couch while turning on the television.
NUMBI sat on the washing machine as I gently ran my sharp lead pencil on the last page of my sketch book.“I can’t believe that Mr. Volt is really dead” my mother said out of the blue. “First it was Jack’s brother then it was that hag’s troublesome son then little Aki tried to kill himself now it’s Mr. Volt.I felt my body go tense as I tried to ignore her.“The worse part of this is that he was ambushed inside his apartment, imagine if the children were around or Mrs. Shem what could have happened to them?” she said giving me a glance.“Aren’t there any baskets to deliver today?” I asked in effort to change the subject.“Oh no daughter not today” she replied while handing a thin man his basket.Suddenly the door clicked open as my heart pounded faster.“Apple my child” my mother said out loud in joy. “A
FILLING THE VOID“Are you going to eat that food or you’ll keep torturing it like that?” my mother asked with her eyes on me.Plot cleared his throat then said, “Yesterday the police found a car just around the corner burnt and it’s believed two people were inside in fact they were locked inside then burnt to death”“Oh my god, who could be so evil to do such a thing?” my mother exclaimed.“My gun also went missing a day ago” added Plot. The spoon from my hand dropped inside the bowl as I pushed my chair back then got up.“I have to go finish my project with Apple” I lied as I headed for the front door.“Be back before dark!” she yelled just as I shut the door behind me.I walked down the crowded 33 street with my body feeling numb. I had just killed Sophie and Ten but I felt nothing. Was I losing emotions or what? The old door slowly slid open revealing the dirt inside the small room that had become my nightmare
THE TAPEI blow the dust off the old computer which was before me.“It’s a little dirty around here I hope you don’t mind” Marcus said with a little laughter. If unwashed dishes with cockroaches on the floor and table, old bicycles parts on the floor, spider webs around the table and corners, thousand mattresses, blankets on the floor and over ten teenagers smoking cocaine, cigarettes and playing dices on the floor was little dirt.“It’s cool” I replied as I took a seat on the old leather chair.“Is it comfortable? I picked it for you” he said with a smile on his face.“Yeah it is” I quickly said in effort to dismiss him.“Well I’ll be going, if you need anything just shout I’ll be outside” he said.I nodded dumbly. He let out a smile then went out.“It’s now or never Siren” I said softly as I swit
A YEAR LATERNEW FRUITSI slowly peeled my heavy eyes open and the sight of blood running down my legs caught my eyes. The huge black rats creeping from the thousand packed boxes before me started crawling toward me. A sudden sharp pain from my feet caught my attention. The terrible bites wounds, which I was sure were from the rats had turned green-ish and purple. “Aah” a sharp groan escaped my lips while reaching for my legs with my trembling hands. Slowly and carefully I dragged my aching body to sit upright. The huge steel door before me suddenly flew open and tears involuntarily started rolling down my eyes. “No! No! No!” I yelled dragging my body into a corner. His red coat dragging on the dry blood of the young child lying in the corner got me crawling on the wall behind me. Even though I knew I could never ripe the wall apart I still dug my hands through it, without caring about my na
AWAKING MY DEMONSThe warm breeze blew my face as I turned to Eight beside me. His tiny hands held on mine tightly. “You scared?” I asked.“A little” he replied.“You don’t have to be, everyone in creche will like you” I assured him.A smile appeared on his face. “Plus, you’ll be playing swings, ball and a lot of toys”“Mr. Frog loves balls”“Well there are lot of balls in the creche”“That sound fun, right Mr. Frog?”We crossed the quiet Jilo Street, heading to the building before us painted in numerous colors and children outside the playground. “We are here”I noticed his baby blue eyes had widen. We walked toward the gate. A young woman with curly red hair was already standing near the gate taking children from their parents.“Sister Nina!” Eight exclaimed running into the red-haired woman’s arms. “Eigh...” I tried to yell but he was already in her arms.“OH, my you’ve grown up! “she s
