~THREE~

I alight once we reach in town. It's a walking distance to the company's premises so I just walk there, PARKER DRAPER'S LIMITED COMPANY ,I read the label as I pass through the gate to the reception.

Once at the reception I watch people who are all busy and its still this early ,I wonder how they managed to reach to work as early as that time. Before I reach at the receptionist desk,I spot the car that had just splashed dirty water on me earlier then it dawns on me," Could it be that that guy is one of the interviewees? If he's one of them then I stand no chance winning that position because in our country money talks and I am not as rich as he is or maybe he's one of the interviewers", I think  to myself.

Brushing aside those thoughts I walk majestically to reception.

"Hello?, My name is Nicole Alison ,I'm one of the interviewees and the interview was scheduled today", I say  to the young lady sitting behind the computer, Caren was  her name from the name tag.

" Ooh Mrs Alison welcome to PARKER DRAPERS COMPANY LIMITED, I'm Caren Johnsons but you can call me caren, I'm the  receptionist.

I watch as she types my name on the computer .

"Take a lift to the 9th floor,down the hallway on your right ,the first room across the hall you'll see a door post written HALL in bold ,that's your destination,you'll see your fellow interviewees", Caren says

I mumble a thank you  to her and head to the elevators,press 9th floor button and release breathe I had been holding for long as I wait for the elevators to ascend.

Once on the 9th floor ,I spot the door and enter .There are people already there waiting for their time to be ushered in . I sit on the empty space on one of the seats in the hall and wait for my turn. To say I am  tensed is an understatement,I am super tensed and fidgeting .I wish Maya was right here with me.

After a few minutes of waiting,a lady in her mid forties appears on the door way.

" Hello everyone I'm Amanda one of the interviewers,I'm sorry for keeping you waiting ,but we were waiting for the boss and he's still held up in a meeting right now so we'll just conduct the interview without him", she says

" From here  you'll just wait for your name to be called,I hope you've all carried your Credentials and everything you need success to all of you", she adds on.

I watch as some of my colleagues walk out of the interview room and I wished  my time didn't reach.

"Nicole Alison please come in",I heard a female a voice calling and what I dreaded most was here with me.

I walked in the room head high and with much confidence. In front of me are two stern looking guys and the lady who had earlier introduced herself to us.

"Have a seat Miss Alison,I'm Henry and my colleague here is Ronald and I guess Amanda already introduced herself to you guys",Henry says.

I mumble a thank you as I make myself comfortable on the seat.

"So Nicole tell us more about yourself", Ronald starts.

I breathe in and out silently to loosen up myself I'm so tensed.

"I'm Nicole Alison,I'm 23 yrs old ,a graduate of human resource and management from the University of Nairobi, I stay in kasarani,my homeland is in Siaya",I say

"Well that's great,what made you send your application to this company  and not any other", Henry asks.

"Well I've heard a lot about this company with how it's doing well and expanding,it's located in town which is not hard to spot,the buildings are just something else but generally I wanted to work with the most flourishing company in the country who knows if this will be a chance to boost my carrier?",I say to them and they all laugh.

"Miss Alison ,if given a chance to work in this company what exactly are you planning to do while in the office", Amanda asks me.

"  To be sincere is given a chance to work on with this company I'm planning on seeing the success of the company and as the HR manager ,I will make sure there's a good connection between the employers and employees and to create the good tie with other companies so as to make the company expand",I answer her back.

"Apart from your degree,do you have any work experience? And if no how are going to prove to us that you'll make a good HR manager in this company", Henry asks.

" I don't have any work experience but I believe in myself,I'm a good person when it comes to relations  and  believe me I will do anything in my power to see the success of the company ,I'm the social type ,that will make me  connect well with the people and the employers", I confidently answer her.

" Can I have a look at your academic certificates?", Ronald asks.

I look into my bag ,fish out all the certificates I carried .

After going through the certificates,they all look up, "Miss Alison ,this is impressive,your academic certificates ain't that bad,I can see you also got a certificate as a volunteer for in social working back in your college", Amanda says.

"Yeah,thanks I participated while i was still  a freshman",I say.

"Okay Miss Alison,thanks for attending the interview,we shall give you a call ", Henry says .

"Thank you", I say in return as I place back my credentials in my hand bag.

I head out and take lift to the ground floor,once the lifts halts to the ground floor,I walk briskly to the gate and straight to the bus stop.

As I head home I'm only hoping I get that chance.

Its already lunch time when I reach at the house,I prepare myself some lunch since Maya is still at her workplace till evening ,I eat while watching TV.

Once I'm done I do the dishes and the urge to sleep sinks in so I head to my room,plop myself in my bed and sleep soon catches up with me.
