Chapter 42: A Trip Down Memory Lane

It was a new day. A day of new beginnings for both Elenor and Eliza as they set foot on a train en route to the old city. While the both of them were nervous about their new life, Eliza was the one who was the most worried about this journey. She feared the worst to come especially when the matter concerned Eleanor.

She knew that Benjamin resided in the same city. He had not left the place like she had. She felt like she was entering the lion’s den as the train was nearing their stop. Her heart was beating in an erratic manner as she held onto the railing.

Anxiety was flourishing inside her, making her face appear pale and drained. Eliza’s abnormal appearance caught the attention of her little daughter with curious eyes.

“Mommy, are you feeling alright?” she tugged at her pants to drift her mother’s attention towards her.

Eliza, trying her best to shield her only daughter left from all the pain and suffering that she had borne, dismissed Eleanor’s concerns, “Of course sweethear
