Chapter 2

Zara's POV

"Mate."

The one word I feared the most. Don't get me wrong, I love the thought of mates and I thank the moon goddess for her idea of it but it all depended on who it was from.

The person who said it was the great Alpha Stone. The one person I hate in the world.

I could reject him on the spot, yes but I couldn't because that would be disrespecting the moon goddess and there must be a reason she put me and him together. The reason I really need to know now. Couldn't she have chosen someone else?

"Mate is so sexy. I want to lick his face," Liv said.

"No you cannot and now is not the time"

"We're so lucky."

"No we're not, he killed our family, he might kill us too."

"He won't."

"How are you sure?"

"I'm not but there's something about him that tells me he won't."

"Whatever. What do we now?"

"Lick his face."

"We can't lick his face, that's not appropriate. You know what? I'm going to run."

And with that said, I was off. I heard a loud roar. I knew there was no way he could catch me. I'm a hybrid for goodness sakes. Werewolf and Vamp speed. Damn I'm lucky.

"Z, aren't we there yet?" Stella asked while yawning.

"Soon Stell. Go back to sleep," I told her and she lay back down and fell asleep.

"You need to stop running. Where are you gonna go anyways? You have no family, no home. Just come to my pack," he taunted, still running behind me.

"He's right," Liv said.

"I know."

I stopped running and turned to look at him. He wore a proud smirk on his face which I hated. He turned around and started to walk without a word, which I assume meant, he's leading me to his packhouse.

I could take this chance and run but Liv would be upset and I can't go running around in the woods with rogues everywhere, risking my sister's life.

When I finally arrived, I was amazed at how beautiful it looked. It was empty as well. He led me to living room and gestured for me to sit, which I did.

"I'm going to ask you a few questions and I need an honest answer for each," he said and I didn't answer, instead looked down at Stella.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Zara Thorne."

"How could you outrun me?"

"I'm a hybrid. Half vampire- werewolf," I answered and I took a glance at him to see his eyes widen slightly.

"How?"

"My mother is- was a werewolf but her mate was a vampire. My father. Alpha Thorne," I answered glaring at him.

"Okay. How old are you?" he asked after clearing his throat.

Seriously no apology!

"21."

"Who is she?" he was referring to my Stella's sleeping state.

"Stella. My sister," I told him.

There was a sudden silence and I looked up at him, staring at his shoes. There was a look of remorse, written on his face.

"I smell leech!" a loud voice said as he burst through the door.

I got that alot. It was why half of my pack hated me. Even though my father was a vampire, they loved him to the depths of the earth. When it was announced at first that mom had a vampire as a mate, war almost started. It took papa years to prove himself to the pack that he was worth it. That he meant no harm. They finally accepted him, 4 and a half long years. That's what I was told though. I on the other hand, not so much. I never understood why.

"You think they're gonna like us."

"Does it matter? We're leaving tonight."

"And go where huh? Are you really gonna run away from mate again?"

"To another pack! And yes, because I can't stay here."

"Okay let's say you do go to another pack. What becomes of mate. Forget him and mate another wolf or vampire. If you do that, I'm gone from you forever."

I hated the fact that she was right. I had no escape here. I looked up at the dude who came in earlier. He had brown eyes, quiffed hair. Black hair and almost shorter than Wyatt.

"Can I leave now?" I asked, becoming uncomfortable with them staring down at me intensely.

"Follow me," was all he said and walked away.

We went upstairs and took a left turn and went straight. The second door on the right was mine.

"Get some sleep," he said and went back downstairs.

This is going to be hard.
