Four years later...

"Maverick, I don't believe that you can have anything to say to your son about this." Scar laughed as Maverick was showing a rare side of him, the annoyed one.

"Scar, really?" He asked as he looked at her.

"Like father like son." Scar replied as she smiled, "Nathan, not only is your clone in looks and temperament. He has your taste in things as well."

"At least the rest of our children are like you," Maverick said softly as he looked at his wife of twenty-two years, and she hadn't changed one iota since that day on the beach.

"Yes, thank god because if they were like you, they would have run me all ragged." Scar chuckled as she pulled down the blankets.

"Are you really planning on leaving me like this?" Maverick chuckled as he tugged on the restraints that bound his wrists and ankles.

"Are you going to see reason?" Scar asked.

"It is reasonable to question his intentions, my love." Maverick countered.
