Chapter Three: Flashback ( A mother's instinct )

The Next Time Anna woke up, it was already morning as the blinding lights of the sun shone through her room. When she sat up from her sleeping position, she was surprised to find her mom in her room.

" Good Morning Anna, " Her mom greeted her whilst staring intensely at her as if she was trying to see through her.

" Morning Mom " Anna Replied, Managing to force a smile.

" What's Wrong with you Anna? , You don't look well, " Her Mom asked worriedly as she touched Anna's Forehead trying to feel her temperature, sensing the closeness Anna Flinched, Yesterday's incident Hasn't left her yet.

Though it wasn't that obvious, her mother who was paying close attention to her every reaction noticed her flinching.

" What's wrong Anna?, Did I do anything wrong? Why did you flinch? " Her mom Panickly asked.

" It's nothing Mom, I am alright, I just had a bad dream that's all " Anna replied, and when she realized that her mom was convinced she sighed in relief.

' This is going to be very hard ' She thought Inwardly.

" Oh! Don't worry too much about it Anna, it's just a dream and not reality so don't take it to heart " Carthy Advised her daughter.

' How I wish it was just a dream ' Anna thought Sadly.

" Alright, Mom " Anna replied Softly.

" Good, well, that reminds me...last night, you didn't have dinner with us as you slept early which is unlike you, Anything the matter darling? " Carthy asked her daughter with Concern laced in her tone of voice.

Perhaps it was due to motherly's instinct but Carthy felt that something was wrong with her daughter, Something has changed about her little daughter but she couldn't pinpoint what it was Exactly.

" Mom, I... " Seeing her Mom Care so much about her, Anna wanted to tell the truth, but when she remembered the threat she decided to keep shut about it.

  " What's the matter, darling? , " Please talk to Mom! " Carthy Jones pleaded, she hated seeing her daughter like this as it breaks her heart.

  " It's nothing Mom, I just feel tired, can I stay home today? " Anna requested in an attempt to change the topic.

 " Of course you can, your class teacher Cynthia Called me earlier and informed us that you were a little sick yesterday and should be allowed to stay at home today to rest. " Carthy told her daughter.

 " Oh! Thanks, Mom " Anna replied Smiling faintly.

" Hmmmn, that reminds Me, I brought your Breakfast, " Her Mom said as she showed her the yellow-Coloured Tray that was on the small dining table in the room.

  Taking a glance at the Contents of the tray, Anna saw that it contained Toasted Bread and a Hot cup of Milk tea, her favorite.

" Thanks, Mom. " Anna said in Appreciation.

 " You are welcome darling, you can have your breakfast here after you have freshened up, I am heading to work now, and yes, no one is home today so you can have the study room to yourself or Read in your room if you like, and also I have Prepared your lunch and Dinner, it's in the Refrigerator so all you have to do is to warm it in the microwave. " Her Mom Said.

 " Alright Mom, thanks for the effort " Impressed, Anna Replied.

" You are Welcome, Darling. " Mrs. Carthy replied as she Pulled Anna in for a hug, this time around, Anna didn't flinch as she was already expecting the hug.

  During the Hugging Section, Carthy Thought she smelt Something different about her daughter's body, it was like her daughter has been tainted, but she quickly removed that thought from her mind as no way would happen any time soon right? Or so she believed.
