Chapter Sixty Nine: The color of regret

A bright light. The smell and feeling of something burning. I slowly opened my eyes seeing a blurry image of a white ceiling light. I could hear muffled voices but it all sounded gibberish to me. 

I opened my eyes completely now seeing the white tiles surrounding me, the fresh plant by the table and my hands covered with apparatus. I was confused. I groaned, "Mom?"

Mom almost choked, she quickly puts out her cigarettes and opened the window to air it all out, she muttered, "Ah sh*t, I'm sorry honey, are you okay?"

"What happened?" I asked, "Where am I? Where's Clarisse? Where are the rest?"

"The rest?" She looked at me raising an eyebrow in confusion, "You must be confused, the neighbors found you and Clarisse outside the forest all wounded and bruised. They said a wild animal attacked you. People said there are wild beasts lurkin
