Chapter 5

*Kavya Pov*

I immediately reached our company when I got a phone call that Rajeev is held captive for a crime.

When I entered I was directed to a conference hall where I saw Rajeev was sitting in one chair. And another person sitting in front of him is none other than Suhas.

"Rajeev! What is happening here?" I asked going near him.

"What are you doing here Kavya?" he asked back.

"Just tell me what happened." I said, ignoring his question.

"Embezzlement happened today at your company. I mean my company. And it is done by none other than your husband." Suhas said, looking at both of us in a bore.

"I don't think that is true." I said shaking my head.

"I know wives always trust the husbands. So Rajeev will you tell her or shall I show her the proof." He said looking at him.

"I tried taking all the important files away from the company." Rajeev said looking away.

"Why?" I asked him in a whisper. "Everything is going to be fine right then why did you do this?" I added.

"Everything is going to be fine? How could you say that when your own sister is going to get married to this person?" Rajeev shouted at me.

"And what did you achieve by doing all this? Now there is another problem on our heads." I shouted at him back.

"I just thought if I took away the files, then as per his plan fraud will be caused, but as he is the owner at present, he will go to jail and not us." Rajeev said confidently.

"But I didn't know he actually has his people working under us." He added closing his eyes. Suddenly, we heard the evil laugh, and we both turned to see Suhas is the one doing that.

"Do you seriously believe I would have gone to jail even if you got success with this? I have many men who are ready to go to jail for me." He said looking at Rajeev.

"Suhas! Please forget about this. Navya accepted to get married to you so just leave this." I said pleading while looking at him.

Immediately his eyes softened, maybe because after all, he loves me right. I thought, but I shook my head because that is very wrong with him if he feels like that.

*Suhas Pov*

Really? That's good. I didn't think Navya would accept this so easily. Maybe she is really fragile like Kavya always told me.

And this Rajeev looks like he is more eager to stop my plan than Navya's family. Just hearing Kavya's words now proves that.

How can she just accept her sister's marriage to me that easily? I am threatening them that I will destroy them, but she is ready for this to happen to her sister.

Was she always this selfish? I thought but shook my head because this is not the time to think all this.

"So there is a little change of the plan." I said, breaking my own thoughts.

"Are you going to leave Navya alone?" Rajeev asked with hope in his face.

From yesterday I didn't know why he has kept on making me respect him more and more. I looked at Kavya and saw that she is just frowning at me but didn't say anything.

Isn't there any hope for her that I may leave her sister alone? Maybe she is deciding that I will never leave them alone so this must be some other cruel plan.

"I thought of getting married to Navya with all the rituals you know a proper complete wedding, but now I am changing my mind. I want to get married to her after three days in a temple." I said and waited for their reaction.

"What? You can't do that. If you rush it like this Navya will get terrified." Rajeev said panicking.

"Actually, my mom started talking to the pundit, and my parents would want a good wedding, so I don't think it will be good." Kavya said making both Rajeev and me roll our eyes.

"Nope! Three days' time is perfect. If you want, then tell her that my mom is rushing me too much, and don't worry Kavya all the rituals will be conducted at the temple. And about pre-marriage rituals, you guys deal with it. And by the way, you guys actually have so much time. I don't want to give more time making your husband think of some other smart plan." I said getting up.

"At least can we have a grand reception? She may like it." Kavya said.

"Are you sure?" I asked her confused.

"All the girls love it so of course, she will too." She replied.

"I will think of it, but for now there three days is the only time left for you. And don't do anything stupid now because I don't give any extra chances." I said leaving the room.

I went to Mom's house and called for her. This is actually hers and mine is in Mumbai, where I stayed for two years.

"Mom?" I called her again.

"What is it Suhas?" She asked, coming near me.

"I am getting married mom after three days." I replied.

"What? Who jokes at afternoon Suhas?" she asked, shaking her head.

"It is true, Mom." I replied.

"Who is the girl?" she asked after a few minutes.

And this is the moment that I dread because my Mom doesn't like her family at all.

"Kavya's sister Navya." I replied.

*Kavya Pov*

"Look Kavya..." Rajeev started to say but, I stopped him showing my hand.

"Let's just go from here. We will talk later." Saying this I turned around and left the cabin.

"What were you thinking Rajeev?" I asked him when he started driving.

"For the family, we shouldn't think anything before doing something." He replied gripping the steering.

"But look what happened? Now in three days, she is going to get married. What did you solve by doing all this?" I asked him shaking my head.

"At least I tried something and didn't sit back like you all." He replied mumbling.

"What?" I asked him shocked.

He stopped the car on the side road and turned towards me sighing. He looked at me for a few minutes and said, "Are you still not getting it, Kavya? Thanks to you and Dad Navya may suffer in the future."

"How am I responsible for this when this is all Dad fault?" I asked him confused.

"You already know what your dad feels about him when you became friends with him. That is really good of you but when he proposed you, there was a chance for you to explain him that your Dad will not accept him. Ok, you may have thought your Dad may accept him, but when he didn't and put this deal, you could have immediately rushed near him and tell him everything at that time itself. But you didn't Kavya so just accept the truth." he replied even though in a calm tone, but it felt like a slap to me.

I looked away and started crying with his words ringing in my ears. He sighed and said, "I am sorry, Kavya. I know I shouldn't have said all this to you, but you are acting like all this is completely ok, and I am shocked by your behavior."

"I love my sister Rajeev, but I love you and my baby more even though it makes me selfish. You are saying yourself Rajeev that probably her life will get problems, but you are not sure right. But if we don't go through this, then our lives will become hell." I said looking at him.

"I am still not getting you Kavya, but just forgive me that I talked to you like that." Rajeev said holding my hand.

"Rajeev! Can you promise me something for me?" I asked him gulping.

"I promise you, Kavya. I will do anything that you ask me. I love you so much." He replied now holding my hand with both hands.

I closed my eyes and said, "Promise me on our baby's life that you will not say a word about this to Navya."

"Kavya!" he shouted at me, and I opened my eyes to see that he is looking at me like I am crazy.

"You promised Rajeev." I said, looking away.

"Have you really become this selfish and cruel?" he asked in a rage.

"I think... I think Navya will soften up Suhas. She will make him fall in love with her, and he will forget about all this. I know this because Navya is a very good girl. Hell! She is purer than anyone in this world. So let's just see what will happen." I replied calmly.

"It is not her duty to change him, Kavya. It is no girl's duty to change a man, and all girls deserve nothing but happiness and not some duty on their heads. As you made me promise I will not break it, but if I get to know that she is even little hurt, then I will tell her everything I mean everything." Saying this he started driving.

If anyone asks me who is the nicest person after Navya, then I would say it is Rajeev. I know I may be wrong, but I have the impression that this will turn out to be good for Navya.

I am sure my best friend is still there somewhere in him, and he will come out because of the only person, and that is Navya.

After a few minutes, we reached Dad's house and went inside to see Navya and my parents watching some Movie on the television.

I cleared my throat and said, "Navya! Are you ok to be married in three days?"

"What?" she asked me shocked.

"Suhas's Mom is forcing him to get married as soon as possible so they got the date after three days, so are you ok with it." I explained to her.

Dad and Mom were, looking at me with questioning eyes, but I shook my head. She kept quiet for a few minutes and then said, "What do you guys think?"

"We all are ok." I replied.

"What about you Jiju?" She asked, looking at me.

"Like I always said Navya, just follow your heart." He replied.

"Well, that is not saying anything at present so I will go with your decision. I am sure if you are ok with this, then this must be perfect." She said and left the room saying she needs to call her best friend.

"This is really bad." Saying this Rajeev left the room.

Then I told my parents what happened today, and they looked very shocked hearing this. I just hope they both will be happy together.
