What am I doing? Why would I walk away from what might be the biggest story of my life?

Turning on my heel, I strode outside, knowing Dante would be long gone.

I hailed a cab, breathlessly giving him the name of the gym that Dante lived above, praying he knew where I meant.

“You’re not dressed for the gym.” The cab driver chuckled, peering at me in the rearview mirror.

“Oh, no. I’m visiting a friend.”
