Penn felt something akin to pity as she watched Denzel stumbling back as if him shifting away from Vallas would somehow make the news unreal and change the fact that Curtis was dead. 

“No, you are lying. Is this some sick joke you and him are playing to make me lose my cool?” Denzel demanded but Penn could see the pale pallor that Denzel skin seem to have taken. 

“Not everything is about you Denzel, Your son was a traitor, this is about his death which was caused by his actions and decisions not yours.” Vallas stated as Penn paused. 

“Of course, he was your son.” Penn realized. 

“Stop referring to him like he is no more.” Denzel snapped at Penn who shifted back. “Now enough of this game you are playing and tell me where my son is.”

“He is dead Denzel.” Penn stated calmly, trying to add feelings into delivering the news. “He was a traitor
