Chapter 6

She told Isaac to take Noah back to the palace safely. Noah didn’t like that idea and tried to protest.

"But you are my bodyguard, you should be with me all the time." He said and was trying to find a way to stay with her. He wanted to take care of her for some reason but Meera was in no mood to hear his whining.

"Your protection is my priority and to fight against your enemy first I have to find who he is. Issac is also your bodyguard so just go with him!" She said in a serious tone that sent chills down his spine.

"Ok then." Noah went to the palace with Isaac.

She went to headquarters where that attacker was kept. She was greeted by everyone in the headquarters as she was on a higher rank than all of them. She entered the investigation room and stood in front of the attacker who was now unconscious from being beaten up so much. She threw water on his face and he woke up with a jolt.

“Nice to meet you…” Meera said with a smile that was scary as well, it was a devil’s smile.

“Who are you…?” The attacker asked hesitantly. 

“The one who shot you and was asked to protect the prince. The one whom you angered the most.” Her polite tone turned dark in no time and he started trembling just by looking into her dark eyes.

"Tell me who sent you!" She said pointing her gun at his head.

"Y...You can kill me but I...I won't tell you." He said and tried to show as if he didn’t fear her but his body just wouldn’t stop trembling.

"Oh, so you won't mind if your family is killed." She said and put her gun down. She gave a signal to the people who stood behind the glass window. The curtain on the window was removed and a lady and a small girl were standing there. They were his wife and daughter. They both were at the gunpoint of George and Lewis.

"I'll count till 5 if you don't tell me who sent you here, they will die in front of you,” Meera said with a straight face and heartless tone. “1...2....3...4 " She started counting immediately.

"I.. I'll tell you. It was Mr. K who told me to kill him." She was shocked and ordered them to end the investigation all of a sudden. They were all released. Everyone was shocked by her sudden decision but they had to follow her orders.

"Don't ever come back to this city," George warned the attacker and they were sent to the airport.

"Now who is this Mr. K?" Lewis asked as they were sitting in her office, discussing that day's incident. Meera was standing near the window while the others sat on the chairs.

"The one who killed my parents." She said suddenly and they all were shocked.

"How can this be? You killed the mastermind already, didn't you?" George asked and the others had the same question.

"Joseph just mentioned one name before dying...Mr. K…”

"What?!” George asked in a high-pitched voice. 

“The one who killed your parents was Mr. K?" Lewis asked, continuing his question.

"Yeah..." She answered calmly as she turned towards them.

"And you knew about it? " George asked as he couldn’t believe his ears.

"Yes." She replied the same way.

"Then why haven't you told us about it?!!" They both shouted together as they were frustrated because of her keeping things from them.

"Firstly calm down.” She sat down in front of them, on the table. “Mr. K… He is a very mysterious guy who never showed up after my parent's death but now finally he is coming to light. My parents were also agents and they worked for the agency and for King.” She started walking around the room and they both fixated their eyes on her as they were getting too curious. 

“Mr. K is the most powerful gangster but only a few people have seen him till this date, which includes the king and my parents. So he wanted to kill them all, but he only succeeded in killing my parents.” Meera paused in between as she had a flashback of the horrible past, she felt a lump form in her throat but she swallowed it down just like those tears and her pain.

“He wants to kill the king and his family so there won't be anyone to compete with as the king has the same power as him. My parents were the ones who almost exposed him and because of them, his most reliable people were killed. To avenge them, he burnt my parents alive. And now he's back to kill the upcoming Prince." She told them roaming around in the office.

"What a story! I...I mean when did you get to know about it?" George asked as he almost got distracted from the actual point.

"Last year... when I was reading my mom's diary. She mentioned the name Mr.K and I began my investigation about him that day." She replied and looked away, she was reminded of her mother again, her gentle touch and soft voice- so soothing that it took all her pain away.

"Now what are we going to do?" Lewis asked after some time. He was hesitant as he knew that Meera was also hurting in all of this.

"We will need the King's help to find him as he is also the one who has seen him." She said, picking the key to her car. It was the sign that they were going to move again. They went to the palace and met the King.

"I heard Noah was attacked today." The king said as he was sitting on a chair. Magnificent as anyone could expect from the royal family.

"Yes sir, a guy tried to hit him." She replied, a little politely as she was here to ask for a favor this time.

"Find him and the reason why he did so." He ordered in a serious tone as he feared that the enemies were getting too close to the prince.

"We have already done that, sir." She replied confidently and the king was shocked by the fast progress. He looked at her with his one eyebrow raised, asking what the progress was. 

"He was sent by someone." She continued but still maintained the cliffhanger.

"Who?" The king asked in kind of a stern voice as he was getting impatient.
