Chapter 27

Zac’s point of view.

I run with Ellie in my arms; when I get outside the warehouse, the emergency services have already arrived, and I carry her to one of the waiting ambulances. We head off to the hospital, the blue lights flashing, not that I need a reminder of how desperate Ellie’s condition is.

They try to stop the bleeding from Ellie’s head as they radio ahead. 

“We have a code red coming in.” They say.
