Old habits

She sat at the exact seat meant for Julia, mom was indirectly looking for trouble.

Julia sat at the next available seat.

I smiled with her and she did the same, giving me a warm smile.

We all ate quietly. 

Julia walked to the exit and on her way out, mom yelled.

"Don't pretend with us Boma, I know it's you!".

I turned and gazed at her.

Julia turned and saw the look on her countenance.

"What are talking about ma'am," she says.

Mom walked up to her with speed, she raised her hands and while aiming to do the only thing she knows how to do best, I step between and got hit instead of her.
