THE HOOKUP

PART ONE: The hookup

I have invariably loved planning weddings ever since I was a child, I adore the idea of people coming together in celebration of two beautiful souls, and for that to result, you need me" boma hart" the wedding planner. 

I make people's dreams come true and at the end gets paid for it, if only grandma could see me now, "evil laugh". 

Today is the wedding of my best friend Tina and her high school sweetheart," Derek". Vastly times I visualize myself and say "will I ever have my happy ending?" till now that question is still pending, and do not know if it ever will happen!!. "Ma'am, the bride needs you!!" Jude, my assistant notifies me, "Thank you, Jude!!" I ran to her without wasting much time. 

"Hey, you!! What's going on, are you planning to run away from your wedding because you found out that Derek isn't the one!!" My lips weave out these words as she turns with an odd face. "What the hell are you saying? Of cause not, I only called for?" She indicates it out geeking through the window.

I strolled further to her, churning my eyes to the window, "I don't understand? That's Derek standing there, so!! What does it mean!!" With a bizarre look on my face, I asked her, as she turned my eyes in opposite directions decerning a young-looking man, in his tux. "Damn!! He cute but who is he?" I retreated my eyes to her, " actually!! His name is David but you can call him Dav!!" She (tina) smiles at me.

"Urgh!! Please tell me she didn't just hook me up a man!!" That's my head speaking and now my lips asserted out " so!! Is he a part of the family?" I raised a question.

"Seriously!! Of cause not, I met him in my yoga class today and figured he will be a good match for you!!" Tina says " ugh! How many times have I told you I am happy being alone, did you forget about my last relationship?" I opposed her idea swiveling my back on her. 

"I do know okay but it's been years now and please don't give me the, am so pissed at you attitude to me because we both know how much I love you and want you to be happy" Tina runs a concerned look whirling back my attention. 

"Fine! I will give him a try but if anything goes wrong, you will have a dead body to deal with deal?" I pulled out my hands to her." Deal" she happily takes it, smiling at me.

"It is time!!" Jude made known to us, "okay my love, shall we go meet your fiance!!" I said, "hmm" she blinks her eyes at me.

(The matching song plays on the piano).

I gawked at the side, how swiftly she sauntered to meet Derek who waited patiently for her, I felt so much gladness in my heart, being able to see my best friend gets married to her one and two love, I know it will sound crazy but, they both are the definition of true love.

A few hours later

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you can now kiss the bride!!" The priest let out his final statement before I could say "black back pat!!" Derek pulls his wife buckling a kiss on her lips. 

"Aww!!" I cheerfully looked at them when shortly my happy face turned upside down. "Hello!! Beautiful" a masculine voice says to me, "hello David!! Am I right?" I asked being fully aware that was his name.

Still at the wedding!!

"Hello Boma, are you alright!!" He (David) snaps his fingers at me, "oh yeah!! Am fine!! Sorry about that!!" I let out a soft smile. "Oh okay, I was kind of worried back there, because you zoomed out for a bit!!" David kept a nervous look on his face, hence for someone who just met me, he sure sounded concerned, "I am okay David, never mind!!" My eyes fall on the Newlyweds, both taking pictures, "cute isn't it?" He sews his eyes to them as well, "yeah!! It sure is" I pinned a weak smile, "erm!! Can I talk with you, please?" He says drawing back my attention "talk about what?" I kept a straight face, "look!! Boma, your a beautiful, intelligent, and industrious woman, truly any man will be happy to love you, but I don't think it's me!!". He says draping a sympathetic look on his face.

"Did he just give me the sorry it's not you but it's me, sermon to me?"  That my head talking, as we eyed each other, "hello!! Boma, you zoomed out again!" He hurls me back to reality, "yeah!! Can I ask you a question" I said to him, "sure!!" In a hurry he ratifies it.

"Why did you then, accept the invitation made by  Tina, if you know this wasn't going to work?" I asked him trying to gather my thoughts, " oh! The only reason I accepted it was because, after Tina told me everything that happened in the past year, I felt sorry for you, that's I accepted to come to meet you In-person" David turns his glare away.

"Hahaha!!" I had nothing to say but all I could think was "wow!! I will kill Tina in a moment!!". 

"I am sorry Boma! Please excuse me and I hope you find the one who will love you!!" He ambled away leaving me speechless.

"Hey bestie, what's going on?" Tina steps in the minute he left, as I whirled to face her " what did you tell David, your yoga buddy about me!!" In air quotes in asked, " oh!! I didn't tell him much, just what happened between Scott and you?" She returns her words to me, "oh my gosh Tina, how can you tell a stranger, something so important!! Huh!!" I angrily walked out on her.

"Hold on Boma!!" She grabbed me back, " look I am sorry okay, I thought telling him what happened will get him to love you!!".

"No!! It won't get him or any other man to love me, all it can get is sympathy from them and you know how much I hate been a pity" I said averting her gazes 

"Hey!! Look at me" she swirls me back to her, " what?" I angrily stared, " I am sorry okay!! Can you forgive me and besides today is my wedding, huh!!" She said with a sly smile, "urgh!! Fine, your lucky today is your wedding and I am in a good mood" I muttered jerking my head to her, "aww! Thanks my love, and now let's go enjoy my wedding" Tina hurls me away in an excited mood.

Hours went by " 6:00 pm".

The whole day passed by fast, and now it was time for the Newlyweds to head over to their honeymoon at "stardom hotels" which is one of the best hotels in town and trust me, I only purchase the best for my clients.
