It has been days, and Eion's two friends kept on returning to the shop ever since that day.
"Hey Snow!" Leroy booms as soon as he enters the shop. Yes, they had frequently visited the store that I call them by their names now. A few customers' heads turned around but returned to chattering with each other.
"I'll have the same as usual," he said. I don't know how or when we really did get close enough to the point that he just barges in and yells my name loudly, but it’s fine for me, I guess.
"Me too, the usual please, and her number of course." Dax winked, offering me a flirty smile that I promptly rolled my eyes at. And I don't know how or when we really did we got close enough to the point that Dax just flirts at me so casually.
I looked at the boy, whom I now know as Caleb, “Yes.” He answered, licking at his ice cream. “Don’t do this next time. Aunt Anna is looking for you, she’s worried," he said coolly. “You know each other?” I asked Eion, to which he ignored as he picked up the little kid in his arms. Now that they are both beside each other, I had a quick overlook. They have both green eyes, but their attitudes were miles apart. Now that I think about it, the little kid looks familiar. Oh right! He was one of the kids playing with Nathan at Aunt Maggie's. Maybe he is Eion’s brother? Or cousin? "Do you know each other? Is she your girlfriend? She's very pretty," Caleb asked Eion. I almost gagged at that. Him? My boyfriend?
Whoa! I smell something fishy here, I'd have to ask her about it later... Hannah and I go back to the garden once they leave, each one of us holding a glass of apple juice. "So, what's with you and Leroy?" I constantly asked once we were away from them. Hannah almost chokes on her drink, blushing yet again before she answers, "He's just a friend." "Yeah, sure. I bet that's why you were blushing back then and even now." Her eyes widened at that and her hand shot up to her warm cheeks. Hah! Gotcha! "Ugh! Fine!" She groans when I perk an eyebrow at her silence. "I...
I looked behind me. Ah, the robot, yet again with his criticism. What's with him today? To think I was actually starting to assume that he was manageable enough to handle these days. Guess I was wrong. Or was it one of his mood swings again? Whatever. I sighed, before retorting sassily, "Oh great. And what color does your highness think is best?" "Blue." Eion the robot shrugged. “And why are you even here? Were you sick yesterday?” "I just recovered today. And you're an expert at picking colors, huh?" I asked, now irritated at him. He scoffed, "I was just saying what I thought was best..." "Then go ahead and tell it to Aunt Maggie. My choice of color is just an opinion. You're making it a big deal." I scowled at him,
"Who's Emma?" Hannah asked as we walked to Luke's car. Oh right, she hasn’t met Emma yet. This would be a great opportunity for them. Maybe I can make them friends, right? "Oh, she's my friend. She works with me at the shop." I said, getting into Luke's car as Dax, Leroy, and Eion got into his. I whispered to her when I was sure Luke was distracted while driving, "Dax has a crush on her that’s why he’s eager to get there." Hannah gave me a look, before whispering back at me, "Are you sure it's not Leroy?" I shook my head in answer, “No, Leroy doesn’t like her, don’t worry,” And she sighed in relief. The fact made me smile, even more so when we heard an excited cat-call from Dax as they sped away. "Well, someone's excited," Hannah mutters incredulously. "Yup," I replied, popping the p, both of us giggling softly as Luke followed them too and we were behind them now. ******* When we arrived at the shop, I was surprised Dax waited for us,
"Have you seen Eion?" Leroy said after a few days barging in on the door with a troubled look, and startling me, Hannah, and Luke as we chill at the balcony. It was already afternoon, and I was in Aunt Maggie’s house again, as Hannah has been bugging me lately. Good thing that Aunt Maggie summoned us to check out the church and have the rehearsals. "Oh, didn't know you two were here," said Dax, appearing behind Leroy. "What? He ran away, did he?" Hannah said. I looked at her. Ran away? Why are they looking for the robot that much? "Does this normally happen?" I asked them. "Yes," answered Leroy, "But now, we were looking for him since we're supposed to go to church in a while and we haven't really seen him around..." Leroy asked. "Doesn't he always stick to you two? You're supposed to be his friend, right?" I asked sarcastically. Leroy smiled sheepishly, "Well, he's complicated sometimes, wanders off alone once a while.""Everyone else is a
He shook his head, "No." I tried to raise his head but he swatted my hand away, "You are." He denied again, "Nope." "You really are," I smirked, it's so seldom to see, maybe I can make fun of it... "I'm not." He said again, clearly irritated now. "Yes, you are..." I said in a sing-song tone. He sighed helplessly, giving up before finally looking up and showing his red and puffy eyes and his slightly wet cheeks, "So? What if I am?" "Oh, nothing, in particular, I was just curious as to why Eion the robot was crying," I asked him, "I just didn't know you have feeling
I nodded, "Yup." Thinking for a minute, he firmly answered, "Then no.” Really? I have to push him further than, he’ll agree for sure. “Come on, don't be so hard to get. "No, Snow.” He said. "I mean don't be shy.” "No.” I grew tired of it. Damn, huffing, I yelled at him," Just say yes already!" "Okay," he finally said, agreeing to my offer helplessly like he had no other choice. “There, I agreed. Happy now?” He asked. Perfect. "So, now that we are 'practically friends'", I quote. "Maybe
He grabbed something from the hoodie’s pockets and I saw two cans of beer. My eyes widened in shock, wow. How does that even fit in there? I just chuckled. "Why don't we drink for a while? Since this world is full of cruel things?" he asked and held out one of the canned beers from his pocket. Grabbing the two beers, I threw it in the trash can, "Eion. You said you are 'slightly drunk' "I quote."Don't drink anymore okay?" I said. He sighed. "Okay. Now, let's go," Standing up, we now walked out and I followed behind him. Good thing that he’s not that drunk, that he couldn’t walk on his own cause I swear, I wouldn’t be able to carry him all the way to his car. Emma gave me a teasing look on the way and exclaimed happily, “My ship is sailing!”
