Nikolay:
“Can I ask why you tracked my call in the first place?” Kiara asked walking inside my office. To say that she was annoyed right now was an understatement, but when Maddie walked down and told me that Kiara was asleep, and that she found her holding her phone in her sleep. Her grip tight, and that she worried that she might have gotten a call. Then mom coming out of her bedroom looking troubled triggered me, letting me know that something bad has happened.
“You slept holding your phone. Maddie told me how tight your grip was on it. Meaning you slept out of stress and anger, then mom” I said looking at Kiara as she walked inside the office, her arms crossed over her chest. Vladimir raised an eyebrow at me but I rolled my eyes and nodded to him, Viktor, and Alexei to walk out of the office, they had been with me when I bugged the phone. Though, I did not expect to find a threat from her father toward her, I expected to see that she was working AGAINST us. That
Kiara: “Bloody hell” I hissed opening my eyes. My head killing me with a headache, I reeked of alcohol. It being the first time I’ve had any of it in two years. I had stopped drinking when I grew older, finding no pleasure in doing it anymore. It bothered dad at times that I would reject the wine offered. But I knew that it was better when I didn’t. At least someone was always sober to stop him from getting in trouble. The door to my bedroom opened and I tried raising my head to look at who was entering. But my head felt like it weighed a ton. Forcing me to keep my head on the pillow and taking my other pillow and throwing it over my head. “Relax sleeping beauty, Nikolay just sent me here to bring you Advil and a glass of water” Maddie giggled removing the pillow from my face. I glared at her and she smiled innocently. Her smile devious, but I was still angry with her for telling Nikolay that I seemed upset when I fell asleep. “You know, if I didn’t n
Nikolay: “You can’t be serious?” Kiara asked with wide eyes. I smirked and stood in front of her. Taking a step forward forcing her to take a step back until her back hit the wall forcing her to stop moving. Her eyes met mine and I put my hands either side of her head. Caging her between my arms. “Now, I do recommend that you NEVER do the little stunt you did out there…” I leaned closer to her ear. My hot breath hitting her neck “unless you want me to be sure that you won’t be able to walk” Kiara gulped and I smirked when she pushed me back. Taking a step forward away from me, her cheeks red as she blushed walking past me. She opened the door to walk out of my bedroom, with me one step behind her. “I recommend you taking Advil, I’m guessing your fever rose a little” I winked at Kiara who froze in her spot, her back to me. I could tell that she wanted to say something to respond to my comment, but she kept herself controlled and walked inside her bedro
Kiara: “So, where are we going?” I asked as we got inside the car. One of his men, according to him Anastas was going to be taking me wherever I needed to go and whenever I needed. He had introduced him to me before he went to get the car, Nikolay deciding that he wanted to drive. “That’s a little surprise” he said smirking. His muscle contracting as he put his hand on the wheel. It was the first time I’ve seen him wearing a t-shirt since we were kids, and since we only met during fancy gatherings or galas, I only saw him wearing a suit. But today, he was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans. His hair of course was as neat as always, his scruff light and he smelled like cologne. “Why? Planning on sacrificing me with style?” I teased making him chuckle and shake his head. I raised an eyebrow at him smiling and biting my bottom lip in amusement. “If I wanted to sacrifice you, I would have done it at home” Nikolay winked. Starting the car, he drove ou
Nikolay: “Thank you” Kiara smiled at the waitress as she gave her the mug of coffee she ordered. The waitress nodded at Kiara and smiled at me making me smirk when I noticed that she actually wrote her number on a napkin and ‘accidentally’ dropped it on the table in front of me. “Cliché” Kiara commented. “But effective” I mused putting the napkin in my pocket. Kiara raised an eyebrow but didn’t bother commenting, though I could already tell that she was somewhat jealous. However, knowing her, I knew that she would never admit that she was. “So, you’re basically now my business partner” I asked changing the subject. Kiara smiled and nodded, her eyes avoiding mine as the waitress came back again. This time bringing our food, Kiara looked at her plate and shrugged pushing it away. Making it obvious that she didn’t want to eat anymore. “Miss? Is everything alright? Do I need to change anything?” The waitress asked Kiara who shook her head. Taking
Kiara: “What the hell?” Nikolay snapped when we got home. Him and I went to Niagara Falls, he tried making it up to me, I must admit. He did his best to keep me smiling through the whole day, but now he was furious and I couldn’t understand why. I followed him and my eyes widened when I saw Claudia in the arms of a teenager. The kid looked to be a year or so older than she was, and I could tell that he was the kid Nikolay told Claudia against dating yesterday. His eyes were flaring with anger as he looked at his little sister. “Nikolay…” “Stay out of this Kiara” Nikolay hissed at me. Turning to his sister, he walked toward the kid who now scrambled away from Claudia. Finding his shoes as he tried leaving. Running away from the fury of the mafia man who looked like he was going to shoot the poor, frightened kid. “Nikolay! Stop!” Claudia said standing in front of the kid. Defending him from her brother. I couldn’t describe the look of pain and a
Nikolay: I woke up with a smile on my face. For the first time in a while, I had actually had a full night’s rest. And when I looked beside me, I knew the reason. There she was, the girl who I had longed for. Asleep beside me on my bed. Her palm under her cheek as she breathed evenly. Sleeping on her side facing me, her expression calm. I was tempted to run my finger over her cheek, smiling at the sight of her being in peace by my side. Her and I having had a long night last night, and no, not that type of night. We just stayed up drinking, laughing, and talking for hours. However, both of us made sure not to get too drunk as to lose control or not remember what had happened. Just enough to loosen up and enjoy one another’s company, somewhere in the night we were watching a movie and I looked beside me to find Kiara curled up on the couch asleep. She had changed into sweat pants and a comfortable shirt a while before the movie and was sleeping
Kiara: “Good morning” I smiled at Nikolay opening my eyes. It had been a month since him and I started sharing his bedroom. I was laying my head on his bicep and his fingers were running through my hair letting me know that he was awake. “Good morning princess” he said gently. He had stopped me from sleeping in my own bedroom. Technically he didn’t say anything about it, he just kept coming up with excuses to stop me from staying there. Either telling me to come and watch a movie, or we’d be talking and I’d eventually dose off. In the end, I just realized that he didn’t want me to stay in my room and I just didn’t bother wanting to stay there, most of my things were here in his room too. “Sleep well?” Nikolay asked softly. His voice was gentle speaking to me, and I could tell that he was trying to make this work with us. Our marriage was somewhat working so far, we were going out on dates too. Though we didn’t really call it a date, we were just hangi
Nikolay: Kiara and I walked down the stairs, heading down to see my little sister who was causing me more trouble lately. “Nikolay, don’t be too tough on her. Your father already had his go on her, as did Adrian…” I kissed mom’s forehead stopping her from finishing what she was going to say, I knew that she would want me to be lenient with Claudia, she was her youngest. I couldn’t blame her, but I couldn’t be as lenient on her, if I was, then she would be crossing all limits. I couldn’t allow that. “I will do what needs to be done, mom. I can’t let her get away with running away, something could have happened to her” I said cupping mom’s cheeks, her eyes avoided mine and I frowned in confusion. Her face dropped as if disappointed “mom?” “Claudia didn’t just run away, Nikolay. When she came back, she was limping, she couldn’t climb her window, that’s how she was caught” mom said sadly. I frowned in confusion at mom’s statement, her body heated, and I r
