2 - Before Time was Fashioned

2 - Before Time was Fashioned

Yin was a legend among legends.

One time, she had single handedly eaten five bowls of super ramen in under a minute. Or was it six?

Oh, wrong record.

Among the many daughters of Primordial Chaos, Yin was the first to be enlightened and gain consciousness. She had lived her existence well, despite being born in an ivory tower. One could say she was more a traveler than a warrior. Thus, she had left many tales and countless myths in all the worlds and realms she had touched, visited and created.

When life was new and Time was just fashioned, in the Land of Celestial Deities, she had singlehandedly founded the devilish sect that had trampled upon millions of mortals and immortals. All these achievements were made back when she came of age at eighteen. She had become a goddess worshiped in exchange for immortality, and her words had formed a school, her thoughts had formed a Dao.

She was once a devil known as the Original Sin and had called for the Age of Ice.

She is beauty and temptation incarnate.

She is the embodiment of destruction, darkness, and the moon.

She is Primordial Yin.

However, countless eons ago, she was destroyed in a heaven-rending, catastrophic war that had fragmented all known existences, nearly wiping out the lives in the multiverse. Enemies from beyond the void had shattered and erased the souls of each and every deity that had participated. Her soul was among the few that had survived, but most of her powers had dissipated, merging along with the creation of new worlds and realms.

For thousands of years, many of the soul seeds that she had sent in many worlds had failed to undergo reincarnation. It had been so long, long ago that some of the soul seeds that survived did not even awaken the memory of their past life upon finding a new body to latch on.

There are some soul seeds that still contain the greater part of her Dao. As such, they could not be reincarnated lest the newborn body explodes from the onslaught of power. They can only form a Spirit Body that could exist in the underworld, helpless to actually control their fate.

This Yin was actually that kind of soul seed, the one who could only loiter like a naughty ghost in the underworld and torment the Judges of Death in there. She was the resident troublemaker, and she had long given up on getting another shot at life.

Who would have known that a pie would fall from the sky today?!

She did not even do a single thing. There was no ritual, no prayer, no offering. She did not even bribe Grandma Meng to allow her passage without that disgusting soup. Nyada.

"Oh, well. Who am I to question?" Yin flicked the dust off her new body. "Complicated things like that are not for me."

She stretched her arms and legs one by one. After making sure that her soul had become accustomed to the midget limbs, she strolled back to the corpse.

"Is this guy this midget's daddy? An older blood brother? Whoo. Seems like I can expect to become another country-toppling beauty in a decade."

She casually checked his clothes and found that aside from his robe, he had nothing worthy on him except his belt and shoes.

"Someone had stolen his things, but since they didn't take this midget's accessories, it is safe to say this is no robbery. Looks like a conspiracy or personal vendetta."

Suddenly, she heard a loud scream behind her.

"Dead bodies!" a man's voice called out. "There are dead bodies in here!"

Yin turned around with a snort at the newcomer. "Excuse me. This one might be drop-dead gorgeous, but I sure as hell am alive."
