The next morning, Doyle was so excited about the pregnancy that he couldn’t contain his excitement. From the moment we had woken up, he had been grinning like the cat that had gotten the cream, the milk, and the canary.

Crouching behind an enormous tree in the garden, I watched as two of my father’s guards made their way past my hiding spot.
