Chapter 10: Trip Shenanigans

A city as prosperous as Aldrich city looks very dazzling towards one's eyes. People would laugh, enjoy their daily life full of luxuries within the city after all Aldrich city is known as ‘The City of Luxuries’ where all people with wealth, power are gathered. Hack, even the commoners have the better living condition than most people from various districts inside the Kingdom.

But they would never know that far west from the city, there is a place called Territory 26 is located. Territory 26, a place filled with filth, treachery, poverty and a dumping place for trashes. It is a place where committing crimes are normal. Here, the strong prey on weak and weak…if they don’t get strong, they will die in a ditch somewhere. Mary Lin hates this place, this is the place where she grew up and almost died. If not for Miss Lilian, she would not have survived. The only good thing she learnt from this place is to be strong…stronger than anyone that no one can touch her after all strong survives. The wind whistled as Mary jumped from the roof to the roof swiftly. With Clak she landed on the edge of the roof of an abandoned church. Even though the church is abandoned, the moonlight shined down softly down giving it a holy glow. She crouched down on the top of the roof and reported,

“Alpha 1 here reporting. Target has been found I repeat target has been found. Over!”

‘After all, it was her fault.’ Mary thought as she then peered from the hole on the roof and saw no one. Mary jumped and landed down on the ground smoothly. She moved inside the abandoned church.

It turns out that Quinlynn does not need to worry about attracting attention. In Aldrich city, there are many rich people and people wearing fake knock offs of famous brands.

‘Heh I thought, some people would kidnap us just for being from an aristocratic family but I don’t think I need to about it worry.’

The slick black low-key luxury car parked near Westside Park. Unlike the central hall that is one of the busiest places in the city. Mary chose to drive towards the Westside area, as it is full of nature beauty and a small crowd around it.

They got out of the car. Vincent’s eyes sparked with eagerness to explore. Quinlynn followed from behind, Mary pushing her wheelchair. Quinlynn saw the buildings made out of red brick. The whole place looks picturesque. Then Mary took them to a large forest park called ‘Westside Park’. She saw elderly people feeding pigeons, couples having dates, the family having a picnic underneath the shade provided by big trees.

“Welcome to the Westside Park! Young master Vincent. My lady. We can first explore the park and have a picnic lunch. After that, I will take you two to the amusement park near here. How does that sound?”

“That’s good Mary. Good job.” Quinlynn gave Mary a thumbs up for planning for the trip. Even though Mary looks like an unreliable person, She is after all a top savant graduate from Atlas Academy of Maids and Butlers. Mary puffed up her chest and accepted the compliment proudly, “Of course, for your and young master’s first visit I chose a remote place in the city. You two have been studying too much these days and I want you to relax, enjoy some fresh air provided by nature…”

“Yeah, Yeah…you can take us to explore now.” Quinlynn waved off Mary if not they will hear more nonsense from her.

Quinlynn did enjoy the trip. They went to row bow, feed ducks, breath some air and eat some delicious food underneath the shade. It was kind of relaxing. Then…then she fell asleep. Who knows waking up she will see Mary calling someone anxiously.

“What happened Mary?~” Quinlynn said with a yawn.

“My lady, young master Vincent…h-he is gone!”

Hearing this her eyes widen as she completely woke up. “What! What do you mean that Vincent is gone?!”

“When your sleeping, I stayed with you but young master Vincent wanted to go explore the park so I just let him go only if he stayed within my sight but who knew that just when I took off my gaze at him for little. He disappeared!”

“I just called head butler to track young master Vincent and send a rescue team to find him,” Mary explained biting her lips.

“Wait! How can you track Vincent? He didn’t even own a phone!” Quinlynn asked in confusion.

“About that, I might have forgotten to mention that the clothes you’re wearing have small GPS chips embedded inside…hahaha…ha-a” Mary scratched her head, laughing nervously.

Mary saw her young lady looking at her with ‘Are-You-Serious?’ face with ‘WTF! That’s creepy’ face. Seeing this Mary hurriedly explained to her, “It's for protection so that when you get kidnap or lost our rescue team can find you. When you grow up and get stronger, we will give you normal clothes without GPS chips. That’s De’Rosa family safely policy.”

‘This family is creepily overprotective but for the current situation I think I can help to find Vincent.’

Mary heard a ringtone from her jeans pocket. Quinlynn saw her coming towards her.

“Young Lady, I will send you home.” Quinlynn saw Butler from the De’r]Rosa household waiting for them near the parking lot. She saw Mary staying behind. “Aren’t you going with me, Mary?”

“I will be joining with the rescue team to find young master Vincent.”

“Will you find him?” Quinlynn was worried if that cute innocent child would be lost in an unknown place or even worse some dangerous person might kidnap him.

Mary saw the worry in Quinlynn’s eyes. Thinking that it was her fault where she chose the Westside area, a place close to a dangerous place called Territory 26. Sighing, she patted Quinlynn’s head and assured, “Don’t worry, Young lady. I promise I will bring young master Vincent safe and sound. I promise with my life.”

Quinlynn saw determination inside Mary’s eyes as she promised her to bring Vincent safely. She just said okay believing her and went inside the car. What can she do? A girl who can’t even walk right now. She is not even familiar with this world and the place she is living in. She can only hope that they can find Vincent soon.
