Chapter 5

Tracy straighten her posture deciding this wasn't a time for her to reminisce over her dead sister's word, she had been trying to unravel the secrecy behind her sister's death and finally she had finally seen an opportunity.

She held her head higher gathering much courage in facing her interviewer.

"Hi.." she stammered clearing her throat blaming her voice for betraying her.

"Hello" he greeted back.

She had almost forgotten she was being interviewed as she had greeted casually.

"Good afternoon, sir" she greeted politely correcting her self by greeting formally.

"Yh, so can I have your credentials" he replied in an arrogant tone.

Tracy handed the brown file that contained her credentials over to him.

She watched as he collected it without sparing her a glance and quickly went through it while she had her head bow praying silently.

"You're hired" he said abruptly.

"Your job starts now, meet Jerome, my guard to show you to your room.

Am starving, check the meal time table and Prepare it as fast as possible.

You have only twenty to settle down and serve the dish to my table" he stated coldly not giving her space to oppose.

So she just nodded at every word he uttered.

"Have a nice time here" he added walking away from the room.

Tracy sighed heavily glancing at Jerome his supposed guard.

"Here " Jerome muttered pointing the way out as he led her out from the interview room to the main building.

Tracy trailed lazily behind him, staring surprisingly at the magnificent house in front of her.

She'd never seen a house as magnificent as this was, she felt she was in a world of fantasy, knowing such houses only exists in Disneyland.

"Common! Come inside" Jerome summoned her snapping her out from her imagination.

She walked inside the apartment and just as she had presume the inside was so beautiful even more than her imagination.

Her gaze raked all over the room in awe as she was led to her room.

"So here we're, finally" Jerome said opening the door for her to go in.

"Wow! She let out a gasp staring widely at her room.

She couldn't believe a cook room could be as beautiful as this was.

She wondered how her newly murderer of a boss room would look like.

"This is nothing compared to master cole room" Jerome said as though reading her thought.

She turned idly towards him and was tempted to ask what his room looks like but she waved the idea aside and thank him instead.

"You welcome" he smiled.

"I'd get going now, if you happen to be in need of any thing don't hesitate to call me, I'd be glad to be of help" he added closing the door.

Tracy let out a sigh after the door closed with a click.

She rested her back at the door trying to sink in everything that had just happened.

She smiled lightly knowing she has just taken a step ahead in getting her revenge.

She roamed around her room thinking how her stay there's going to be.

Her newly boss had given her twenty minutes to prepare his meal and have it served to his dining table.

So, she had to make use of he time wisely. She reasoned.

She hastily went downstairs to the main room looking for Jerome to direct to the kitchen.

Her eyes scanned through the main room and she spotted him giving orders to others maids.

She walked quietly to where he was smiling lightly watching as he dismissed the maids on seeing her.

He stood still with his hand stuffed in his pocket waiting for her to get to him.

"Uhmmm, would you be kind enough to show me to the kitchen" she asked pleadingly.

"I'd be glad to" he replied removing his once stuffed hand from his pocket as he began leading her to the kitchen.

Tracy followed quietly noticing Jerome was a man of few words since he had been responding to her questions curtly.

"Here we are" Jerome said pointing at the kitchen, I'd advise you to be fast with master's Cole meal as he doesn't like being served late". He advised.

Her body quivered at the mention of her boss name , she wondered what he'd do if she should serve him late.

'What had she expected, A man who could murder could of course treats his workers inhumanly'. She reasoned.

"Thanks Jerome, I will try to prepare it as fast as I can" she replied grabbing the Apron that was on the cabinet.

She guidedly put it on watching as Jerome strode out of the room.

She set aside her ingredients as quickly as ever.

Of course, she had to be quick in order not to get fired, not when she hadn't planned her sister's revenge. She reasoned again.

She took out the freshly robust tomatoes and began chopping it lightly, she stopped for a while as she noticed her hands were shaky.

"Damn!" She mumbled frustratingly, annoyed at herself for letting her emotions get over her.

She was meant to be courageous and bold but there she was shaken already by just a mere word Jerome had warned her about.

She shook her head in disbelief and continue chopping but more faster this time.
