Leo opened his eyes to a dark sky sprinkled with so many tiny stars that shone and glimmered, he welcomed the cool breath of fresh air that sipped though this nostrils and into his lungs, his chest heaved in a lengthy intake of air and dropped back down as he breathed out.
The air out here was cold, he could feel it despite the thick cloak that wrapped him from his shoulders to his feet, he wiggled his feet beneath the cloak, no shoes. Yes that was right, he had lost his shoes after his capture, how was it t that he only noticed that now? and the cloak did very little or nothing to stop the chills from engulfing his feet but to the left of him he could feel some warmth. He turned. He was greeted by the warm, orange glow of a burning fire and although the fire was small, it managed to warm the most part of the left side of his body a bit despite the small distance placed in between them. Taking a palm to his left cheek he felt the warmth there which contrasted tBen was not exactly thrilled about returning back to master Renard, mostly because he did not know how he would face him with the news of what Master Krane had said, but he knew that he had to. He had to deliver the message given to him by Master Krane for the mighty Arch Angel Renard, but... what would he say? How would he say it? How the hell would he even begin? To say that the potion was not ready would actually not be so bad, but then to say that the most important ingredient needed in mixing the potion was unavailable, to say that it had not yet been found and or might never be found because Ben himself knew of how rare that particular ingredient that was needed was.Usually, before now and as it had already been, all the potions which had been made and used in keeping Renard stable and sane had come from Master Krane as he was the only demon to master all the arts of sorcery, witch craft, black magic and the rest of the dark ways. He had been the one to know how to get al
The life of a prey and a predator runs in an everlasting cycle of survival and just as smaller prey animals were being hunted by other larger predator animals and by humans, the same happens in the world of the supernatural and sometimes, this is where the natural and the supernatural collide, this is where reality meets mythical. Whether it was for food or it was for sport or maybe it was for other motives, it went on and on and would not stop as it is blended into nature, balanced or imbalanced.Humans hunted animals, demons hunted humans, Angels hunted demons and the Angel hunters were a group of mix breed shape shifters who called themselves, the Nadris. But the Nadris were not limited to just Angels, these never before seen and hardly heard of hiddedn creatures could hunt and capture any creature if they wanted to, they were like the police force of the mythical creatures, only that they were not myths, they were just extremely well hidden and it was easy too.N
"... Liam." Phidian called loudly, raising her voice above the noise and loud music of the bar but only just enough that he could hear her, she shoved him lightly by the shoulder. Liam blinked twice then rose his head to look at her."Where did you go?" She inquired, leaning in a bit closer."What do you mean?" He half smiled and downed the last gulp of the barley. "I am right here, seated here, or am I not?"Phidian dropped the empty tray she had been holding and pulled a seat closer to Liam and sat. She placed her left palm on his right forearm and felt his biceps flex beneath her touch, he was nervous, that much she could tell and it worried her because Liam was not one to be nervous."Liam...""I feel suffocated." He cut her off. "I need some air.""Then let us step out." She held him by the hand, pulling him out of his seat and manoeuvred them both around the drunk and loud demons chattering away in the bar until they were out. They walked aro
"Funny how you two are always showing up together." Renard spoke after welcoming both Scott and Dan into his place. He had sent a message the day before to the Nadri elders, requesting for the best huntsman they had for what her needed. The charges had been exorbitant but he had reasoned that it was well worth it. He knew his request was close to impossible but why give up?"Why? Were you expecting someone else perhaps?" Scott asked, settling into one of the leather chairs."No, not that. The elders made it clear to me whom I would be expecting." He waved one hand in the air as he also sat. "I mean, considering the fact that neither of you like each other."Scott and Dan exchanged looks at each other briefly with raised eyebrows."And you know that, how exactly?" Dan questioned looking back at Renard. He noticed that the Arch Angel was frail looking and his wings did not shine that much anymore."You were told?" Scott asked."No, I know.""And how?
Leticia's joy was uncontrollable. She jingled like bubbles in a wine glass as she went about getting ready to leave with Liam. Today she would take the step to get closer to her brother, Liam had assured her of that. It had been an internal war in herself staying idle and not being able to go out to search for him herself. How long had it been since her brother had been missing? It almost did not matter now because they were heading out to find him, they would be going to see another renegade Angels whom Liam had called Sheila. She believed, with full conviction in her heart, that if her brother was with this renegade Angel Sheila, then she was confident of his safety as Liam trusted her whole heatedly."How do we know where Sheila will be?" Leticia asked curiously, applying an extravagant amount of asphax on her arms, face and legs.Liam fixed his eyes on her as he watched her. "Don't you think you should calm down with the asphax?""Huh?" He looked u
"And what might you be?" The Nadri had thrown the question to Leo, his eyes fixed on the teenager. Sheila's horse bobbled its head, unable to stay steady, maybe it knew that finding a Nadri, or rather, running into one in the middle of the forest was a sign of danger."Is it not obvious?" Sheila defended. She tried as much as she could to keep her horse in between the Nadri and Leo who remained quiet and observant but the powerful beast she was on would not just stay put. She could hear the fleeting thoughts running through his mind and knew that he had no clue as to how dangerous and fast this short conversation could turn deadly. Sheila was ready for anything."No?" The Nadri spoke. "It is not so obvious."Sheila reached for her sword discreetly, grabbing hold of the hilt. "And what are you trying to imply by saying that?"The Nadri leaned to the side so he could get a better look at Leo and he asked. "Are you hurt?"Sheila turned to look at Leo
"It is either you are trying to protect her or it is that you do not know what she is. So which one is it renegade?" Dan asked Liam.He was some how surprised, did the renegade Angel really not know that the human he was with was a mixed blood? Or was he just pretending not to know so that he could try to protect her from him. He smirked, any how it was, he was going to leave only when he had the human in his possession. She was going to be his trophy to rub into the faces of those elders who had though Scott to be higher and more skilled than he was, and he was going to brag about that's most especially to the other dying Arch angel and he would very much up his price. Oh, he was going to get all he wanted with just one frail mixed blood in front of him, he just had to get rid of this obstacle. He had to kick Liam to the side then he would be able to have her.Liam shifted his head slightly toward Leticia but never took his eyes off the Nadri, with his brows pe
"Luck was on your side Dan, that you encountered a mixed blood almost immediately." An elder spoke up in praise of Dan."But she had Liam with her, that renegade Angel has been on the radar of many creatures. He has himself a lot of enemies." Another completed.Dan smirked and side eyed Scott who had remained quiet all through. He had found a mixed blood first while Scott had been rubbing elbows with the corrupted Arch Angel who had shown less favour towards him, but now he was sure that the tables would turn. He would be the one on demand now. He focused back on the elders."You said, he did not know what she was at first? He did not know that she was a mixed blood?" The elders asked Dan.He puffed up a little before replying. "That is correct, he did not know what she was.""And how were you able to find her so quickly?""She was bleeding, resulting from the fight she was in with the demons who had attached them. I could smell her blood and I tr
