Chapter 4

4. SO!!! Continue With Your Little Rogue Game.

Cruel!

Cruel!

Fucking cruel!

Yeah that is what you would call your fate if you end up being feared by the one you are supposed to be loved! The veins of your body pop out in vexation and your heart stops beating at its usual pace when you see your mate laying under a tree unconscious and shivering with fear.

"Where the fuck have you been, Adrian!" Anger was adamant in every word he spoke, his irises staring murderously at his beta as if he would be under his grave sooner or later. "Do you have any idea how mad I am?" huffing with deep breaths, he inhaled the stale air again and again as he demanded for a real solid reason from his beta.

On the contrary, the clueless beta who just arrived after searching for his alpha for a period that seemed longer than a decade bat his lashes feeling stupid under his red eyes.

"What happened! Why do you sound so disappointed? Is everything alright?" Adrian pressed his lips against each other trying to figure out his emotions.

He had a hard time understanding what was up with Alan. He neither replied to his questions nor minded to provide him any information regarding the person who laid like a sleeping beauty with folded hands resting on her stomach.

His eyes shockingly moved simultaneously to Alan and the girl who was supposedly sleeping dead there with no movement. Notwithstanding, she was not really dead. He could listen to her breaths and also smell a dreadful stench of thick blood. His eyes amusingly moved around in the surroundings attempting to spot for evidence or at least something that can clear off the layer of confusion that had covered his thinking abilities which was only leading him to think in a negative way.

He was in no situation to ask anything or request Alan regarding the herb they were supposed to find— the ultimate reason why they have come here for. His eyes matched with the dry soil below his feet as he silently stood there becoming another part of the silent era built up by the alpha.

The time was passing, the colorful leaves falling off dry, birds starting to return to their nests, yet Adrian could not dare to move even an inch away from his spot. He had his head hung low while he lost himself to his deepest thoughts concerning his younger brother's death!

Who knows if he is dead already as it is now going to be evening soon. They had left the pack house earlier in the morning around 4.00 to get the needed natural ingredient for the treatment of the infected cubs alas, looking at the intensity of the period he cannot do anything than to fancy his dear little one being buried into his grave.

Adrian, with given-up will, finally lifted his head looking back at his alpha friend. No matter what he ought to keep aside his professional and personal life. Sucking in a breath of misty air he inched forward approaching Alan. "With all due respect, please tell me what happened here, Alpha?" Even though the heaviness of losing his little brother hovered his head, Adrian put on a serious look, asking his alpha about the scene.

His curiosity took the best of him, he cannot suppress himself from inquiring regarding the woman sleeping under the tree. It was the same time he realized that Alan's arm was bleeding, he seemingly swayed his head in a dizzy manner. "Shit, what's up with this? Please tell me what happened behind my back, alpha." Alan passed him a look that was difficult to be comprehended, along with that he moved his head in her direction henceforth narrating everything that took place in his absence.

He was bewildered would just be a timid euphemism because what Adrian felt from inside failed to appear on his face. The woman laying under the shadow of the shedding tree was his Luna. She was his Alpha's mate that was being hunted for a long time. He was shocked when he was told about the way they met each other.

"I am so sorry to hear that alpha. But no worries, Luna will be alright. Let us take her to the pack, she will be taken care of there." His advice was a good piece but it failed to please Alan as he swiftly shooed that off with an unnatural nod.

Having his bleeding wound clutched tight with the other hand, alpha Alan vanished from his eyesight only to return again with a parcel. It was not a fancy parcel you'd get in any stationary or gifts shop, rather it was just a packet that was made up of banana leaves and tied up with tendril into a square parcel.

When it was forward to Adrian, his eyes shone in joy while his heart still fought the battle with his mind whether it was the same thing that he was thinking of!

And guess what, his thoughts turned into reality when his alpha friend announced, "The herb is inside this parcel. Go back to the pack and hand them over to the doctors. And yes, don't come to see me until each and every pup is out of the epidemics attack, hmm." Adrian battled with himself to find a good set of words to thank Alan however, the voice had stuck back in his throat not wishing to escape and express his emotions until he paid clear heed to his words once again.

Wait! Did he just threaten him to not come back until the infected cubs are normal, did he? Does that mean he would not join him to the pack back.

He can't keep his perplexed wonder inside his chest when his irises stared at the unconscious mate of his alpha lying under a tree. "Uh alpha, did you just sa—"

Ohh that he could complete the sentence so that his words made a meaning alas, Alan being savage alpha Alan, cut him through his mid sentence, making it clear, "No, I am not joining you back to the pack. Not until I make sure she trusts me enough to come to our kingdom wholeheartedly with me." Letting go of his wounded arm with eyes darting her figure on the ground, breathing like a greedy he Alan sat next to his faint mate continuing further, " Beta Adrian, your Luna thinks me of a rogue and fears me. (pause) Now don't you think it'd just ruin the typical rogue story if she is told that the rogue she met is not actually a rogue but an alpha!" No sooner had these words reached Adrian's eager ears than his eyes widened, amused and shocked.

Letting the naughty grin crept on his lips Adrian winked at him very well, understanding what his alpha friend meant. "So!" raising a brow of exclamation Adrian smirked before he turned into his wolf form.

"So?" he heard Alan throw at him an equally questionable look.

"So, I think you should continue with your pretty little rogue game with your mate, in the mean time I will take care of the pack in your absence, alpha Alan." Curtsying in respect across him with a soldier-like salute, Adrian turned into his wolf all set to get back to his ultimate destination... Brave Blood Pack.

Exchanging a last glance of assurance he sped through the trees vanishing somewhere in the darkening forest, "Hey, keep visiting me frequently, Adrian. I'd need you around."

"As you say, buddy!" Alan smiled hearing his voice echo.
