1 -Dad's Coming Back!

Nicoles POV;

It's been about three days I've spent in this new school. I've made friends. At least, the one I like the most is Johan, she's small, super cute, and very friendly. She helped me open up, and has been filling me in on how dubious the boys in our class are.

She's a character. Also a bomb. We are both in art class as she makes the most boring subjects fun. She has a superpower of making teachers answer questions and tell stories, instead of giving notes, till their time is up.

It's the end of my fourth day in school, and I'm on my way out of school. My house is a fancy distance away from school, and my mom isn't willing to pay a fortune to the school as a bus fee. She says the amount paid for my uniforms, book, and the rest is enough to make one's financially stand shaky. So, she's taken it upon herself to come to pick me up from school every day.

Some people may be embarrassed if they were in my shoes, but I'm cool with it. My mom owns a fancy, black Mercedes, and not caring about what people have to say, is kinda my thing.

A school bus drives past me, out of the school's compound, and I hear my name.

"Nicole!"

I look up and find Johan has stuck her upper body out of one of the windows of the coaster bus she's in and is waving at me.

I smile at her carefree spirit and wave back. It's cute and funny to think you can grow so fond of someone in just three days.

"Hey! "I hear someone call, but I do not look back. I have taught myself not to respond to the usual 'Hey, psst, Hello... 'And the likes that I get on the road. So if you don't know my name, don't call me.

"Hello! "the voice calls again. This time, the owner of the voice catches up with me, and I look up at the person.

I find it's my classmate. Mason, I've seen him quite a number of times, as he is also an art student. However, we've never spoken to each other before.

Johan said he's the most dangerous of all the boys in our class. And trust me, although it seems psychotic, I believe her. I mean he is good-looking, silent, carries around this heavy aura of silent dominion, and the list goes on.

I don't have to fret right? nothing's gonna happen. if I mind my business and keep a low profile this time.

"You forgot your note. "He says. Holding out my history notebook. I didn't know I left that behind.

"T... Thank you. "I appreciate. And he walks away. I'm not sure if he nodded at me, or even acknowledged my appreciation, but, I don't care.

I keep walking and find my mom's car parked not too far away from the school's main gate. I walk to the car and get in front.

After exchanging pleasantries, she turns on the radio and begins our drive home. She's silent, and that baffles me. My mom and I mostly chat away the time on our way home.

She fills me in about work, and I give her updates on how school was.

We get home after a long drive, and I'm happy I slept off as I was free from the awkward silence.

The next few hours went by, with my mom being very distant. Until dinner time. She, my big sister, and I are sitting at the dining table and my mom blurts.

"Your dad's coming to visit. "She says abruptly, out of the blue, and my spoon falls out of my hand, while my sister chokes on the noddles she's eating.

"What? "I question in awe.
