Chapter 6

"They got married," said Mrs. Marty with a face that was hard to read. Her words made all the women in their forties to cover their mouths, except Mrs. Betty.

The woman immediately opened her mouth and exposed all of Amber's goodness, "Amber is a smart girl. She's quite quick to learn cooking lessons."

Everyone fell silent after Mrs. Betty said those words, because they saw Mrs. Marty who seemed uncomfortable with this subject. When everyone was quiet, Mrs. Betty continued to make the situation worse. She deliberately highlighted Amber's positive side by saying, "It's just a coincidence that my Amber made the tiramisu cake for all of us." Mrs. Betty then handed Amber's cake cut according to the number of women present, but, Mrs. Betty did not think that Hannah was with them at the large dining table. In the end, only Hana wasn’t given a cake by Mrs Betty.

Fortunately, Hana finished eating her breakfast. She set her plate aside, and the waitress hurried on. "Thank you," Hana said, answered with an elegant nod from Mrs. Marty's waitress.

“How about Amber's tiramisu cake? Does the taste match your taste buds? "Mrs. Betty asked all the women there, but ignored Hana. Mrs. Betty deliberately didn't look at Hana, and only a fool wouldn’t notice that Mrs. Betty didn’t want to share the cake with Hana.

Mrs. Marty turned to Hana, “Would you like to taste this cake?” Mrs. Marty asked Hana who was sitting next to her. Without waiting for Hana's answer, she handed a clean little plate to Hana with a half of tiramisu cake, ”It was delicious. Try it. " said Mrs. Marty.

Only few people knows about the bakery shop located on Jalan Panglima. The cake was made by a Dutch graduate pastry maker. The shop is small so many people don't know about it. But orphans like Hana who always do weird jobs knows that there is a bakery there. She works in that bakery before. Hana was directly involved in making the cakes that are sold. A few days ago, Hana once bought it for Romeo when the man had a birthday. Romeo just ate a little then passed to Hana. A reality that didn't live up to Hana's expectations!

Everyone there knew that Mrs. Marty didn’t like Hana and she couldn’t deny it. However, even Mrs. Marty hadn’t insulted Hana in public like Mrs. Betty did. Mrs. Marty did not like it, so at that moment, she's just waiting for the right opportunity to stop Mrs. Betty and finally get her out of the house. Hana was irritated by Mrs. Betty's insult. It was as if all the blood had been sucked up to the crown of her head. She clenched her fists tightly, that makes her knuckles turned white, as if her emotion was deliberately pouring out of it. "Actually, I can confirm that the recipe Amber used to make that tiramisu cake is the recipe that I owned ...."

Mrs. Betty frowned. Blood spread all over her body because of what Hana told. She stood up quickly then approached Hana and gave Hana a strong slap.

Slap!

Her chubby hand completely landed on Hana's cheek. Everyone there gaped wide at the view. The slap was very painful. Hana almost burst into tears, but with all her might, Hana bit her lip hard so that the tears would not fall down to her face. "Why did you slap me?" Hana asked while putting her hand on her cheek, but still sitting in her chair.

"Arrogant! Watch your mouth!" Mrs. Betty shouted hysterically. Her face looked cruel. "If you realize you don't have the ability, don't say something stupid!"

Hana grinned, she smiled softly, "What did I say wrong? That the recipe is mine?"

Mrs. Betty felt that Hana had crossed the line and said, "Are you drunk? Did your marriage make your brain to malfunction!" Mrs. Betty was so furious when she said those words. Hana's chest seemed to tighten, she couldn't stand the insults that Mrs. Betty repeatedly said, that also shed her tears. But even before it happens, Mrs. Marty was already standing in place. Her face was focused on Mrs. Betty, her gaze was sharp and piercing. "What are you arguing about?" Mrs. Marty said.
