He looked at the time, and he knew it was going to be a long wait for a ride from the company. He shook his head and tried to think of anything else besides the woman in front of him. He made his drink a little too strong, so he was really trying to watch what he said. Though she didn’t seem to mind, he didn’t want to overstay his welcome. She was getting tired more and more by the minute. That was plain to see to anyone with eyes.
“I think it is time for me to try and get the uber.” He said softly, and she looked at him with widened eyes. “You’re getting tired, and I should go home.”
“How long will you have to wait?” she asked softly. She was tired. However, she had been enjoying the peace and having someone else there with her. It was a weird feeling for her to even notice it was different than sitting being out here by herself.
“To about two.” He said a
The next set of instructions was the two of them making the bed into to equal parts. When she crawled in the bed, he watched her and knew this was different than anything he had seen or experienced before. Though he understood her way of thinking and he would behave accordingly though it wouldn’t be easy. He got into the bed, and then as she sighed and wiggled around for a moment, then he could hear the change in her breathing. He followed her into sleep quickly as well. When he woke up, though, he saw her sleeping rested face. It was even more beautiful than she had been the night before. He brushed the hair that was covering half of it off her face, and he knew that he wanted to see this part of her for a very long time. He knew what he wanted as he closed his eyes and stretched slightly without making too much movement because he didn’t want to wake her.Soon he found himself back asleep until he heard her stretch. She was still blinking he
“Sure you did.” Gabe said with a sigh. “come on, you can just say you hooked up with her. I am not going to look down on you because you are having second thoughts on a quick hookup.”“Gabe, I swear to you I would not and will not ever want to go out or do anything with Nicole or any of your girlfriend’s friends. She lied.” Mack said. He was hoping that Henni was not going to be mad. He implied something happened between them last night. Though he had not said her name. It wasn’t something he would normally do.“That’s harsh. I mean, if you didn’t have a good time, that is one thing.” Gabe said. “You could just say that instead of denying the entire thing.”“No, Gabe, listen to me. Nothing happened because it didn’t happen.” Mack said. He could see Henni shaking her head at the conversation. He knew she could end it as well. He looked at her and no
Spending the entire weekend together was not in his plans, but he was glad he had that too for the that first weekend with her. The week after was slightly difficult as he did change his diet and, with her help, had packed up ten meals for him to have for the week. She said she would help him again on the following weekend, and she did without having to change anything for her days. The changes in him were easy to see to anyone who looked at him longer than five minutes, and within a month of eating her healthy meals, he had slimmed down to a healthy weight. He had more energy, and he also had more motivation to go out to the gym after he got off his shift. All the people he worked with were surprised by the end of that first month or so. He was happier and better looking than most people had given him credit for. The few people who knew what his family looked like had written him off years before. He
She knew this was something different. She had no idea what he was going to do, but she felt like she was the most important thing in the world to him right now. It was a good feeling and something she never had before. She was used to the one who never had anyone there with her. Mack was different. When he had changed his diet and started to look better and feel better, she thought he would start looking for someone else to spend time with. She knew that she wasn’t all the best, and as he got better looking as he changed the way he acted, he became more protective of her. She had thought it would be the opposite. Nothing about Mack made sense to her, and she was okay with that. Mack grew out his hair from the tight hair cut he had been wearing it in for the past few years. It was still a little floppy as it grew out, but he was looking better with everything he had changed. She didn’t kno
Mack woke up, and he was still feeling the relaxation in his body from the night before. It was still in his muscles as well. He didn’t want to move. He found himself grinning even more as he nuzzled into her neck. Knowing he could spend the next few days with her and not have to think about the case even though in the back of his mind, he was still working on it, and he knew that. He was finally able to show her everything he meant almost every time they were together. He wasn’t going to go anywhere. He knew that was her biggest fear though she would never admit that. She was so strong-willed, and that was because she had so much to prove to everyone around her except for him. He didn’t need to have anything proven. He knew she was the best at everything except reading people. He could and would help her with that. It would be forever if he had h
“Why are you always here?” Henni asked one day after he walked into the house. It had been about two weeks since their relationship had changed. He looked at her as he took off his jacket coat and placed it on the table chair. He smiled at her.“Haven’t you figured that out yet?” he asked as he walked over and bent down to give her a quick kiss hello.“If I had figured it out, do you think I would be asking you about it?” Henni asked, and he chuckled.“That much is true.” He said as he sat down next to her and saw her working on a review for some of her records for work. She had taken to doing more work from home in the past month or so because she knew he would be there sometime through the night, or he would call her on those very rare nights he didn’t spend time with her. “I guess I found my person is the best answer I
“You said you wanted to marry me earlier.” She said as she looked at him the day later. She knew he would talk about everything with her, and she was willing to listen to him. He never got angry with her questions. He simply would chuckle and then break down the answers in a way she understood. She had no way of really understanding how relationships work. He knew that. He also was always willing to bridge the gap between them. She was too because of this one small thing that he did without thinking too much about it. Mack was one of the few people in her life that had taken the time to do this. He just accepted her as she was and found a way to work with it instead of trying to change her in any way.“I did,” he said as he looked up to her. “Are we really going to talk about this now?”“I just don’t understand why you would think that.” She said as she tilted her head
“That’s love.” He said as he looked at her and cupped her face. “I wanted to be better because of you. You would have accepted me either way.” He smiled and then kissed her nose. “That right there is love at its best form.”“I still don’t really understand.” She said as she looked at him. She heard everything that he said, but it almost seemed he was talking in circles. The simple fact was she really had no idea how love worked. The things that she felt for him were not easy to understand. She knew she liked him more than anyone else. He made her feel good even with her questions. He was just good to be around.“Love is something you feel you never really understand it, sweetheart.” He chuckled. “Here is a better question. When it comes to me, do you feel something different when I am around, then let's say one of the guys you work with?”“Yes.” She said
