Celebrating the new job

"Chloe! What are you doing here?!" James stood up from his seat at the sight of his daughter. He walked toward her and glared sternly. 

Chloe's eyes were fixed on Sebastian Domanco who was sitting just across her with a cold look on his face. She could see how much her presence affected him, in a negative way. She smirked at him secretly before looking at her father with a sweet smile. 

"Dad? Didn't you hear me at first? It's a coincidence. Me and Bella came here for lunch and saw you all and thought to say a hello. Did I do something wrong, Mr William?" She asked while looking directly at Mr William Domanco, former CEO of Domanco enterprise. Everyone from the previous day was present. 

William Domanco raised his eyebrows at the young girl who managed to offend both his sons in their first meeting which nobody dared to do till that day. She has caught his interest pretty well by her rebellious attitude. She seemed confident and straightforward to him. From his experience he could say that this girl was something completely different who can put his sons into their right place. 

It's not like he is complaining about his sons. They are really brilliant and sweet boys but at the same time they are filled with a lot of attitudes and arrogance which aren't good. He needs someone to teach them a lesson on how to keep their feets on the ground. 

He looked up at Chloe with a bright smile and stood up from his place. He can say that this act has caught every person present in the room off guard, including Chloe Jones and his sons. He is sure that his next actions are going to give them shock. 

"No, Miss Chloe, you didn't do anything wrong. I would say you did absolutely right. Please come in and join us for lunch." He said sweetly, surprising Chloe who looked at him with widened eyes. 

"Dad!" Daniel Domanco immediately put forward his complaint which fell into the deaf ears of his father.

On the other hand, Chloe couldn't believe what she just heard. She looked back at Bella who was also shocked. She couldn't understand William Domanco's sudden cordiality toward her. She doesn't have any grudge against him like she has for his sons, especially for the elder son. She remembers him taking her side indirectly and that's why she directed her drama of 'coincidence' toward him. 

So, for now, she decided to just go with the flow and grab the opportunity. She raised one of her eyebrows at him with a smile. 

"That would be a pleasure, Mr William. And please, call me Chloe, only Chloe." She said and forwarded her hand for a handshake which was gladly accepted by William. 

"Let's go and have our seats." He said and directed Chloe, Bella and James back to the table. Some workers already added two extra chairs to the table. He greeted Bella cordially too. 

They got seated down. There were now eight people at the table. Mason North and the woman had neutral expressions. Daniel was frustrated would be an understatement. Her father and Bella were confused and awkward. She can bet that they were praying in mind so that she doesn't cause any troubles today. She couldn't read what was going on inside William Domanco and Sebastian Domanco's heads. 

"So, Chloe, tell us something about yourself. I suppose we didn't get the chance to introduce ourselves the last time we met." William said with a friendly smile which Chloe returned while hiding the awkwardness perfectly. 

Chloe had come here with the intention of irritating Sebastian Domanco and that arrogant Daniel Domanco. She was even prepared if Sebastian messes with the contract for her but now she is not sure of what's going on. Getting introduced with the Domancos wasn't in her plan.

"Uhh… I am Chloe Jones. I graduated in business three days ago from the University of New York. I plan to take over my father's business after learning some business tactics from successful businessmen like you. I also do some modelling shoots here and there. That's all about me." She said with a small shrug. 

"That's good. Pretty much everything we know. Anything else would you like to add? Let's hear from your best friend. What special quality would you like to add about your friend, Bella?" William asked and directed his gaze toward Bella, whose eyes widened after getting all the attention at her. 

Bella was like a deer caught in the headlights as she looked around to see everyone's reaction. Chloe was looking at her with a smirk. James was just usual while William was looking at her with a smile. Other than them, Sebastian was looking through his phone, Daniel and the woman were engaged in a hushed conversation. 

At last her eyes landed on Mason North and she felt her heart flip. He was looking right into her eyes with a casual look on his face but was trying to look deep into her soul with something chilling in his eyes. She couldn't explore that something in his eyes anymore as she got a pinch from Chloe which brought her back to earth and she looked at her. 

Chloe glared at her, signalling that William was waiting for her to say something. Her eyes widened for a quick second before looking back at William with a small smile. 

"I don't know what to say about her because if I start then I don't think I will be able to stop because there are so many things about her. But what I think defines her the best it, she is the most stubbornly ambitious person I know. If she decides to melt the rock, she keeps the ability to do so. I am not even joking! Other than that she is really talented and a quick learner. We passed from university together. At the time of finals, when we were busy studying again and again, she only studied the topics once and invested her time in further research on business and chilling around at the same time." Bella said with a proud look on her face as she looked at Chloe who was smiling at her. 

"That's so brilliant, isn't it, boys?" William praised and looked at his sons. Sebastian just gave a small look at Chloe before looking away and Daniel just rolled his eyes at Chloe and his father's unnecessary cordiality.

"Seriously, dad? What's going on?" Daniel asked with a frown. 

"What?" William questioned back with a small shrug before ignoring Daniel and looking back at Chloe. "So, Chloe, what were you talking about learning business from businessmen?" William asked with interest, making her confused. She shared a small look with her father before looking back at William. 

"Uhh… yeah, I wanted to have working experience before sitting on the seat of the CEO of our company and I don't want to have that experience from my own company. I talked with some of my friends and even with Bella's father to get an internship in one of their companies for experience." She replied and gave her father a small look to see his expression. He was wearing a proud look which made her feel boosted. 

'Not so childish, right dad?' She asked in her mind before looking back at William.

"That's awesome, Chloe. How about you take your internship from our company?" William asked out of nowhere, almost dropping a bomb at everyone present in the room.

"WHAT?!" Everyone present in the room shrieked out loudly. Even Sebastian. 

Chloe was shocked would be an understatement. She needed an access to be close to Sebastian so that she could complete her plan. Her stupid plan which includes making him fall in love with her first before breaking his heart but she didn't knew that the opportunity will be served to her in silver platter. 

"Dad! Have you lost it?! What are you doing?! Why are you doing this?!" Daniel was the first one to react and looked at his father with a frown before giving Chloe a glare. Chloe came out of her thoughts after that and had a triumph smirk on her lips. 

'Oh, it's going to be fun now!' She thought with a smirk in her mind. 

"I know what I am doing, Daniel. Don't talk to me in that tone ever again, young man. Now don't interrupt me." William scolded him in a strict tone which shut Daniel off before he looked at Chloe with a smile. "What do you say, Chloe?" He asked. 

Chloe looked at Daniel with a smirk before looking at Sebastian to check his expression and found him looking at her already. His gaze was hard and cold as if almost warning her to stay away from him which made her smirk some more as she threw a challenging look at him before looking at William who noticed the small exchange between his son and Chloe Jones. 

"Well, I would love that, Mr William. But I don't think my presence in the office will be appreciated by the CEO himself." She said and gave a small look at Sebastian and she could see that she was getting on his nerves, exactly what she wanted. 

"That won't be a problem but helpful for Sebastian as he is in need of a personal secretary anyway. And you seem to be the perfect candidate for it. I don't think Sebastian will go against my words, right Sebastian?" He asked in a strict tone after giving a small look at Sebastian who at that moment didn't say anything other than glaring at Chloe but he understood that declining his father won't be a wise decision at that moment. William looked back at Chloe.

"Also now that we are back to being business partners again, not only will it be helpful for you to learn business, you can help directly in the project too. I think it works best for everyone. So, do you agree to be Sebastian's secretary?" William asked and she looked at Sebastian once again who was by now glaring hard at her. She smirked at him before looking back at William.

"Yes, I agree, Mr William. It's going to be really pleasurable for me to serve Mr Sebastian as his personal secretary." She replied with a smirk while making plans to actually make the experience pleasurable for her. 

It's going to be fun.
