Chapter 2

I froze. My breath hitched as he stalked closer towards me, so close I could feel the outline of solid muscle beneath his shirt. He growled lowly, wrapping a thick arm around my waist, his head lowering to the crook of my neck. I shivered as his warm breath hit my skin, sparking a jolt of electricity throughout my body.

I gasped as his hot tongue flicked the column of my neck, his lips tracing over the trail of fire he had left on my skin. Now his hands were twirling around my hair and he was smelling me. I couldn't mirroring his actions. By now I should have made a move to stop him, but I couldn't, the feel of his lips against my skin, his body so close to mine - my mind was clouded and I felt weak amidst is touch.

"Mine." He whispered huskily, burying his nose into the nape of my neck and inhaling. I shrieked as I was suddenly spun around with my back against the wall, his lips were on my neck, sucking on the soft skin as I latched onto his shoulders as if my life depended on it. For the first time I got a chance to look at his face.

He had dark brown hair that I wanted so badly to run my hands through. His sharp jawline looked carved by the Moon Goddess herself. I looked into his grey eyes, they shone darkly with an unextinguishable fire, the dark yet bright spark in them turned me on even more.

"What's your name?" He whispered hotly in my ear, his bottom lip grazed along my helix and I shivered when I felt something poke my thigh.

"Felicity." I managed to gush out as I struggled for breath.

"Beautiful." He murmured, lifting my chin up with the hook of his finger, I was forced to look into his grey eyes. I wanted him to kiss me so bad.

As if reading my thoughts he smirked and leaned closer, his lips moulding with mine. Grabbing onto his neck I reciprocated his kiss, moving my lips hungrily over his. I moaned as his tongue entered my mouth, his hands squeezed my hips and I ran my hands through his hair.

"What's your name?" I asked through rushed kisses, my hands ran down his arms, tightening around the muscular expanse of them.

"Alpha Jax."

Automatically my abdomen tied a knot on itself and my lips froze mid-kiss, I suddenly felt sick with fear. I was thankful he hadn't realised why I had abruptly stopped and he let me go. As soon as my feet touched the ground, I fled to the meeting room, only to be yanked back to Jax's strong chest. "Don't run away from me." He ordered quietly, each word making me flinch.

"Let me go." I sputtered, fighting to break free from his hold, but like a snake, the more I struggled the tighter his hold became.

"Ahh." He laughed to himself. Without looking I knew it wasn't genuine humour, it was mixed with anger and annoyance.

"You are aware of my reputation. I assume that's why you ran." I didn't reply, it seemed more of a statement than anything else.

"Let me tell you something Felicity, you are mine and I will never let anyone take you away from me. My reputation follows me everywhere I go, I can't change that and neither can you. You are my one true soulmate, the Luna of my pack and I will be forever damned if I let you go." Was it wrong that my mind kept rolling back to the deceivingly seductive sound of my name from his lips. On and on it played in repeat and I couldn't stop it. The deep baritone of his voice was entrancing and I found myself unintentionally staring at his lips.

"Felicity."

I jumped at the sound of my father's voice, instinctively pushing Jax away from me, only to be met with a glare as he tucked me protectively to his side.

"James, leave." Jax commanded, each word carrying a threat. I stared between the two Alpha's, I could see my father cracking under his fiery gaze.

"Alpha Jax, I demand you let go off my daughter immediately." He stepped forward, but flinched back when Jax roared and moved me behind him.

"You're daughter?" Without looking, I knew he was smiling, for what reason, I had no idea.

"She will be coming back with me, as my mate. It's only right I introduce her to her new home."

Hold up, when did I get a say in any of this?

Seizing my chance as Jax's hold loosened, I pulled myself from him and ran to where my father stood. "There is no way in hell, I'm going anywhere with you. I want a rejection, divorce, whatever you call it that's what I want." I glared at his cool expression, appearing indifferent to my request to deny him as my mate.

"And if you try that, my love, I will have every single member of your pack dismembered, including Alpha James." His eyes blazed a fury fuelled black.

I opened my mouth to voice out something in response, but no words came out, I could feel my father's fear, despite his neutral expression.

"I think you should leave now Alpha Jax, my daughter is not going anywhere against her will." My father stated with finality.

Surprisingly Jax seemed calm, but I could still tell there was a boiling pit of anger he kept hidden. He would eventually take action on that anger, I was just unsure when.

My eyes widened as Michael suddenly walked into the room, his father was Beta of our pack and he was one of my oldest friends. I knew exactly what would happen next.

"Hey, who's big, tall and old." He slapped Jax on the back, smiling as if they were old buddies.

Did I mention he has a big mouth?

"Michael!" Before I could warn him, Jax had already delivered a bone crushing punch to Michael's jaw, I watched in horror as his face contorted in pain before he fell to the floor in a heap.

Without thinking I ran to where his limp body lay and held his body close to mine. I heard Jax growl behind me but ignored it.

"I didn't kill him." Jax sighed in annoyance, probably regretting his decision to let him live in the first place.

I bit and clawed at Jax as he lifted me away from Michael's unconscious frame. "We have to get back to my pack as soon as possible, go grab your things now."

I stared at him for a few seconds unsure whether he was serious or joking, when I finally received my answer, I reached up and slapped him as hard as I could, the sound echoed loudly through the walls.

Jax turned back to face me, seemingly unaffected by my slap. "You're a monster!" I spat at him, attempting to break free from his hold.

By now a pack doctor had come to carry Michael away, reluctantly my father followed, after Jax once again threatened to kill everyone in the pack.

I gasped as Jax spun me around so my back was pressed flush against his torso. "Don't ever raise your voice at me again. Go pack your bags we'll be leaving within the next hour." I ignored the butterflies in my stomach as he nibbled softly on the crook of neck.

Feeling sorry for myself I left to my room; arguing with him any further would only put my pack in danger.

Why moon goddess, me of all people?

"Who the hell does this guy think he is anyway? Waltzing into our pack like some macho man." Michelle grumbled, gnawing on the tip of her nails.

"He's the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, you know, the one we need to defeat the blood sucking vampires." I sighed, reaching into the side pocket of my suitcase to hide my knife.

"I know dammit, I just don't want you to leave with him, that man is heartless Felicity." She declared, watching me pack my things with a bitter expression.

"There's nothing to worry about because I'm not going anywhere with him. I'm escaping." I faked a smile and slugged my bag over my shoulder, if I just pretended there was nothing to worry about maybe I would begin to believe in my own lie.

"Felicity he'll find you, I've heard stories about him, about how he-"

I held up my hand to stop her rambling. "The last thing I need is you putting doubts in my mind. You better leave now, I don't want anyone questioning you once they find out I'm gone."

For a second, Michelle remained seated on the bed, reluctant to leave. Realising there was no other choice, she sighed in resignation and stood. "Stay safe." She hugged me and left, the faint closing of the door was the signal for me to start moving.

I pushed open the window and jumped 12 feet down onto the ground below. It was times like these I took pride in my werewolf abilities.

I didn't look back, in fear of what I would see staring back at me. I ran, all instinct to escape was at an all time high as I jumped and ducked my way through the woods. I held on tightly to my backpack, ignoring the extra weight. My lips tugged at the thought of Jax barging into my room, only to find me gone.

I had not figured out where I was heading to yet, but I was relying on our so-called sophisticated werewolf instinct that my father always speaks so highly about. Maybe I'd start a new life in the human world I mean those suckers don't have a clue what lies beneath their modern warfares and power struggles. I should fit right in.

My thoughts were shattered when I was suddenly tackled to the floor by a huge man, his thick line of muscle stared me in the face as I desperately attempted to break free from his hold.

I slapped his arm away when he offered to help me up.

"Apologies Luna, Alpha Jax has ordered an elaborate search for you, I couldn't think of any other way to stop you since you were running so fast." I narrowed my eyes at the man in front of me, his straight teeth and sparkling smile made him the perfect poster boy, but his tall frame and muscular build failed me to view him as such.

I glared at him, slyly attempting to hide my rucksack from his view, I inwardly cursed once his eyes caught sight of the bright green bag.

His eyes turned into slits and he took a step forward, grabbing onto my wrist. I really didn't want to do this, but I did it anyway. I swung my leg back and aimed a swift kick towards his crown jewels. His reaction time was flawless, it took little effort to slide out of the way and watch as my leg hit nothing but air. The man craned his neck to the side and appeared to almost be laughing at me.

"Alpha Jax is already on his way, I advise you stay put until he comes." After what I tried to do, I'm suprised he wasn't yelling in my face.

I rolled my eyes at the do-gooder. "Who are you anyway?" I asked, hoping to distract him as I reached in my bag for a knife.

"Beta Derek Hollis." He answered, peering beyond the trees for any sign of Jax.

"I could fight you for my freedom." I offered, offended when he finally let go and began to double up in laughter.

"I don't know what's so funny. My father is an Alpha and that means I have the blood running through my veins. I'll pin your back to the cold hard ground if I have to." I stated with a warning. I was running out of options and a threat seemed like the only choice at that moment.

My eyes widened as Derek's expression changed and he scowled. "With all due respect Luna, but from what I've heard, you're not directly next in line to be the next Alpha. Therefore the blood technically does not run through your veins, well not completely anyway."

I stared at Derek in utter shock, he knew, but how was that even possible?

Before I could ask anymore questions, my body was suddenly trapped against a tree with Jax's body pressed intimidatingly on mine.

"Did I not warn you not to run away from me?" He gripped my hips tightly and squeezed when I did not answer.

"Yes and I ignored your warning, now let me go. I don't want to go anywhere with you." I hissed, pushing at his solid chest.

"I'm never letting you go." He transferred his hands to my waist and moved himself even more flush against me. I yelped as he suddenly lifted me over his shoulder and carried me back to the pack house.
