Chapter 3

I closed my eyes trying to think about something else other than where I am. I do not want to trigger the devil alpha and my fear of him will be a trigger as he already told me, and I do not want to find out what he will do when he is triggered. I mean the man already said that he does not care if I died, and I do not want to die at least not yet. I have dreams that I still want to fulfil.

My mind takes me back to the pack, to Liz and Mason. Our lazy afternoons by the river and our walks to school. I find myself smiling at the memories, then my mind drifts off to my mom, sigh, she is going to be very heartbroken, I just hope that I do not die so that I can see her again and this alpha did not even give me a chance to pack a few things. What the hell am I going to wear when I get there?

I do not think that he will be generous enough to buy me clothes while am there. He might just let me stay in these clothes for however long he will keep me. Sigh, I will look like a homeless person by the time I got back. “Stop daydreaming.” He tells me then bangs the door making me jump opening my eyes. I scanned my surroundings and I see that we have arrived.

No wonder this pack is called the Devils! It is surrounded by dense forest and the houses are all painted in charcoal grey the one that looks almost black. The whole place looks depressing and the aura that surrounds it is heavy and unsettling. ‘Oh, Goddess, I have to get out of here, you have to help me make it back home.’ I say a little prayer.

“Did you come here just to sit in the car?” I turned and one of the guys that came with the alpha is standing there looking at me with a bored and somewhat annoyed expression and judging by the power I would say that he is the beta. “Bloody hell!” he yells then takes large strides toward my door and I move to the corner. He yanks the door open then glares at me. “Get out!”

I quickly move forward and got out of the car. He walks ahead and I follow. We get into this mansion then go up the stairs, the mansion is painted red and black. The Devil packs den, its depressing but its none of my business. We get in front of the door and he knocks. “Come alone, leave that thing out there.” I do not know why but it hurt to hear him call me a thing.

‘What did you want him to call you then?’ asks my wolf but I do not answer because I also do not know, my name maybe? I stood there like a fool while the guy I assume is the beta goes inside. In the alpha’s office beta JP throws himself on the couch and sighed making alpha Deluca chuckle. “Why in the hell did you take that thing?” JP and the alpha have always been friends since they were kids.

He is the only person who can speak like that to Deluca. “I just wanted to annoy Zane, the man always prides himself by the good warriors his pack produces, and I wanted to pick a fight him to see if his precious warriors can keep up.” He smirked; his friend looked at him helplessly. “So, what are you going to do with her then because we both know there are no issues here.” Asked his beta.

“I don’t know, find something for her to do.” He shrugs then stood up going to the window, at a far distance the mountain in which he grew up in could be seen, he would always stand there like he missed being out there. “You have to go back?” asked his beta. “I left a pack out there man, my pack and they need their alpha.” He told his friend.

When he was left by his father there, he had to fend for himself, it was scary the first four months as he was not used to the jungle, yes, he was used to hunting and all that, but he always went with someone from the pack but out there he was alone. Winders were cruel and summers were cool. There was not much sunlight as the trees covered the sky. “We are your pack Luka, your family.” Sighed the alpha.

“Yes, you are and so are they. Remember they were my family before you all were.” JP clenched his fists angry. “You know that I tried going after you but…” Luka cut him off. “I know you did, and I know that my father locked you up for a year for that. But I have been here for over three years and I have to go back and see how they are doing.” He turned to look at his friend.

“They are just normal wolves Luka, and they can take care of themselves.” Reminded his friend. “Like they took care of me! I am going and there is nothing you can do about that. I will be gone for a month or so, take care of the pack and find something for her to do.” His friend knew that he was on alpha mode now and that he could not try to persuade him anymore.

“Yes, alpha.” Luka sight, he hated doing this to his friend, but he had to go, winter was starting, and he knew that they will be moved to another place to hide from the cold. He will not find them there if he does not go now and will only find them when spring is starting. He has not been there for three years and he did not know what new hiding places they had found. He had to leave now and get to them before they leave.

“I leave in four days.” He told him and his beta nodded. “I will go make arrangements for the girl.” He stands up and went to the door. Zoe was still standing there when he got out. “Follow me.” He instructed and she did as told. He led her all the way to the kitchen. “Beta

JP, what can I do for you?” Asked a lady they met in the kitchen.

“Show her a room and give her some work to do. She will only be here temporarily and will be leaving soon.” The lady nodded then JP turned and left. “I am the head of the kitchen Liza, come let me show you your room and you can help me here in the kitchen.” The smile on Liza’s face disappeared the moment JP turned to leave. “You mean that I will be helping you here in the kitchen?” she could not believe what she was hearing.

She was a warrior not an omega! “Yes, is there a problem?” she could not believe what was going on now, of course! There was a problem, first she taken from her pack without her consent and under the pretence that there was an issue that she needed to help with. Now she was being made to do an omega’s job. “I am a warrior and...” Liza did not let her finish.

“Maybe in your pack you are but here, you are whatever the alpha wants you to be.” She was right, the devil alpha could make her do anything he wanted, and she would not do anything about that. What can she do anyway when her own alpha could not do anything when she was taken? “I understand.” After gathering her thoughts Zoe finally nodded and accepted her faith.

She did not like it, but it is what is it. she wondered how long she will have to be an omega here for, it was her birthday in a couple of weeks, and she had plans with her friend Lizzy and Mason. “Good that you understand, follow me.” She followed without saying a word, there was nothing to say anyway, this was her life now, but she hoped that the situation was not permanent.

Liza showed her to a room downstairs, it was painted dark grey like the rest of the house and the curtain was black making the room look dark even with the light on. “I will get you a change of clothes while you shower then meet me in the kitchen.” She nodded in response and Liza left. She sighed before stripping and going to the bathroom. She could not stop thinking about the fact that she found herself as an omega in another pack.

Not just any pack but the devils pack, how was she going to survive being here? Everyone she has met here looks scary and most of them have scars like they have been to many battles and came out victorious. But kept the scars as a reminder. She wanted to be a warrior, she loved taking care of her pack and she was the best.

But here she was now, about to wash dishes and clean after people. In just a matter of hours her life took a direction she never thought she would end up in. but she was here now, and she had to adapt and fast. Or she was going to die, just like the alpha said and it did not sound like he was joking.

Dang, I'm only realizing now that I'm transforming this into some sort of endless, wanna-be editorial review. I should end this here or there'll be no end to this. My apologies for any inconvenience caused by this... I don't even know what to call it anymore.
