Isabella’s POV

After Carter came to my desk earlier, I was bombarded by questions from my co workers.

Apparently he has never been to anyone else’s desk, he practically just summons people to his office.

“What was that about?” Ryan asks, he sits desk to me.

“Nothing, he just wants an update on the program I’m working on.” I say lying.

“Okay, I was almost scared for you.” He says.

“Why?” I ask.

“Thought he was going to fire you, he always looks so so serious.” Ryan explains and I nod okay.

By 5pm I go to Carter’s office, he had asked me to wait for him there.

His secretary directs me inside, telling me he’s still in his meeting but he said I should wait for him.
