I didn’t have nightmares tonight; I just dreamed of my family and me on a meadow having a picnic.

It is dawn when I wake up; from beyond the mountains, I can see small rays of sun that hit my house as it is built at a certain height.

I head into the bathroom to take a shower, leave my hair wet and wear a nude lingerie set, ripped denim shorts, and a white tank top with a pair of black boots. I make my bed and prepare some crepes with jam and others with Nutella.

I wash the dishes and leave the house to take a walk, heading into the village to buy something for the morning and some beer.

Tongass National Forest, Alaska, the forest is quiet, as it is still early many animals prefer to sleep in the warm and prepare for the cold months. After half an hour of quiet walk, l arrives at the first houses of civilization, hearing how the humans in the early morning are busy not to be late for work.

“Dear hurry up, otherwise we won’t be in time!”

“I greeted the boys and said to do the housework in our absence.”

“Don’t worry they’re old enough to look after themselves!”

“I know, but I’ll always see them as children!”

 The couple leaves the house, and with their car, they disappear after a few kilometres. I used to wake up early to greet Dad, who was going to work too...

Flashback,

“Dad but why do you have to go to work?” I remember that I couldn’t stand up from sleep, so my father took me in his arms and carried me to my little room.

“Because if I don’t work, I can’t buy what my little princess likes! Now be a good girl and go back to sleep, tonight I’ll bring for you a teddy bear that you like so much!”

“Okay daddy, but don’t get too tired, I love you!” Before falling into Morpheus’s arms, my father kissed me on the forehead and left the house.

Present,

Flowing in my memories, I did not realize that I had stopped along the side of the road. I didn’t have to be sad; I had promised them all, even though it was hard for me to do it.

I reached a nearby convenience store that was open 24 hours a day.

“Good morning Mr. Wilson!” I greeted him, and he looked at me while doing his business.

“Good morning Miss, I don’t understand why you always come in the early morning to do your shopping!”

“I don’t like people and in the early morning I don’t meet anyone.”

Mr Wilson was the owner of the shop; he knew me from an early age. My parents used to come here to shop. I didn’t open up to him much, and he didn’t ask me strange questions about the fact that why I had lived alone in the woods for 12 years.

“Lonely as I always see, you know I’ve known you since you were 7 years and I’ve never seen you with anyone in all this time!” He said I know he cares about me, but what about me! I don’t need anyone or bond with someone. Because the fated make me this way, and It’s okay with me...I don’t want that someone can enter my life, not even my mate who I don’t see!

“I don’t need anyone, I’m fine the way I am!” I said and take two beers, some eggs, strawberry jam, some snacks, and some chicken breast to not always eat venison.

Mr. Wilson is like a grandfather; after all, he never made me pay for that bit of food that I come to get every now and then, and he always reproached me that I could go and live with him, but I never wanted to leave the woods.

I leave the discount store and notice how the number of cars is increasing as time goes by. As I am about to enter the woods, I notice a brat following me behind a tree, so I walk another piece of road and surprising him from behind!

“Do you know that babies shouldn’t be in their crib by now?” I scream and make afraid him while he backs away until he finds himself with his back against a tree.

“I’m big, I’m not a child!”

“Really? So, if you’re big boy why don’t you go into the wolf’s wood and eat children by yourself?” I said and can see very well that he is shaking like a leaf.

“Why do you always go in there?” The brat child said; there are some disobedient kids here who always want to know why I live in the forest.

“Because I’m the guardian of the forest and the wolf doesn’t eat me!” I said, come close at the little brat—slow step.

He looks at me with amazing eyes. Will he have fallen for it?

“Really? Have you ever seen the wolf?”

Partly it worked, but the little guy asks too many questions!

“Yes! It is huge big legs and with sharp claws to better cut its victims!” I guess I scared him since all his pants are wet. Oops! “Now go home little baby, your parents will be worried not seeing you in your bed.”

Having said that, I go away in the woods, taking a different way to be careful of being followed again. I climbed over some rocks and arrived at my house, and I throw myself into the void and land without being injured. I put the groceries in place and headed towards the temple after having transformed.

Meanwhile, in the Moon Stone clan,

Darren POV

Where am I? Last night I met up a blonde from my clan and spent the whole night there with together. Now it’s clear to me... I’m in her bed.

I turn and observe her while she sleeps. Amber is everyone’s bitch here; if you want to vent your instincts, just turn to her. I get up and just put my pants back on since she had ripped it off while I was throwing her on the bed.

“Darren are you already leaving?” She approaches me, still naked, thinking she is having some effect on me. FUCK!

“Wear a dress, Amber, and remember I’m Alpha to you, not Darren!”

I reach the meeting room; at my entrance, everyone bows and resume their human appearance, so I do too.
