Run away

Nicolette POV

I run and run. I run again, without ever stopping, passing jungle, hundred trees, and sometimes over the rocks. The power in me has not yet finished, and I have to take advantage of it to get to my refuge. Before using my energy, I felt a powerful presence chasing me, want to tame me, but I didn’t turn around to see who it was.

I am close to home; I just need to climb over some rocks, and before this, I return to my human form. I’m exhausted, full of scratches from that skinny jaguar, and then wolves again. This is one of the best fucking days for me.

Luckily, we werewolves have a quick recovery. Before going up, I wash my wounds in the small stream below my house. The blood stains the earth, and the water takes its color for a few moments but then disappears dragged by the flow.

I lace up my boots and begin my climb. I pass behind a rock with thick roots that I use to climb, and I keep my hands in the different spaces between one rock and another. After this, I pop up above behind a bush, from here on, I just have to walk on the rocks to go out behind my house. It would be easier to just jump from underneath, but I don’t want to run the risk of anyone seeing me, as I have the convenience of having several steps to get here.

I go inside and close the door behind me, small pangs coming from my right shoulder. I undress and go to take a hot shower. The water seems to relieve my external wounds, but not internal ones.

I have a tattoo on my right shoulder that depicts a half-moon with a wolf’s head next to it. This tattoo identifies me as the cursed Alpha, my father used to tell me. According to the ancients, those born in the night of a red moon were destined to hatred, loneliness, and do great things. I honestly never cared much, but I know that every time I use too much power in a day, the tattoo glows red, which causes me a lot of pain—like now.

I have to kneel and put my bare shoulders against the tiles; otherwise, I risk falling. I scream in pain that provokes me. I place my nails on my right arm, and the smell of blood enters my nostrils. I continue like this for fifteen minutes, and then the pain subsides, leaving only slight discomfort.

I leave the shower and wrap myself in a towel. My hair is Petrine, and in the mirror, I notice that my green eyes have a few more veins of red while my hair is slightly dyed red at the tips. Now it doesn’t matter to me to see that something is changing; it has been going on for twelve years.

I put on a sports top and pajama pants, prepare some hot chocolate and go to the armchair on the verandah that I have outside the balcony. I look at the landscape that surrounds me, my house, and I observe the starry sky with its constellations and the Moon Goddess that lights up the night.

“Why did you make me this way! Couldn’t I just be a normal happy werewolf with her family? Why me!”

I turn to the moon with shining eyes, and then from my eyes, a drop slips down my left cheek. I shut myself up and free that cry that I haven’t been doing for too long. I fall asleep like this, in the armchair with tears in my eyes under a sky ruled by the Moon.

I feel a light wind move my hair that caresses my face and the first rays of the sun hit my eyes. When I open my eyes, I realize I slept out last night, but it’s not the first time this has happened. I go back inside to put on my usual shorts, this time black and a white tank top, which manages to cover my tattoo. I take a slice of bread and put the jam on it. I don’t have much appetite. But if I don’t eat, I weaken, and they attack me. So, I must always be strong.

I put on my usual black boots and leave the house, close it and go straight to the town. This time I jump into the void and land as if I had jumped from a small altitude. I do not transform in order not to run the risk of being found immediately. It takes just a little longer to arrive, thanks to the fact that I am fast even when I am human. I come out of the forest, but I don’t go to Mr. Wilson right away. I want to visit this town a bit, since I’ve never made a tour around here.

I discover that there is a very nice park, with playgrounds for the children, different types of nursery schools, high schools, elementary schools, and a kindergarten. I have never attended any of these; as a child, my mom taught me, she said it was because the schools were too far from home, but I knew that she did it to protect me and humans from a possible loss of control.

I’m curious to see how a high school is made. With a jump, I jump over the gate, arriving on the other side. The door is closed, but I notice an open window on the ground floor, so I go in from there. The classes here are all the same, full of desks and chairs, a desk and a long black chalkboard. There are several workshops and a large gym, full of balls in a basket, with the net in the center and baskets at the ends. It is nothing special, and then I notice that the building is co-linked with another school. I think it’s elementary school because number of the brats are entering.

It must be half-past eight, since school usually starts at that time, better I’d go out now before anyone sees me. I climb over the railing and find myself on the other side of the wall, headed by Mr. Wilson when someone bumps me from behind.

I turn around and, “Brat you’re always in the way, do you know?”

“Ah! You’re the guardian! Hey, don’t call me brat!” That child said, looked at angry eyes.

“Okay, now I’m leaving brat, and don’t mess up!”

I am about to leave when he Puts his tongue out! What a plague!  “You know I saw the wolf!” I stop, turning my back to the little guy when he said again, “He’s not like you described!”

“He’s not?” I frown.

“No! He’s good and kind and he saved my life in the woods forest!”

“If you say so...” I’m about to leave, but the brat stops my hand.

“Since you see him, you can say thank him again from me!”

AHH! what a cute child! Kids are so sacred, and I like kids. “I’ll tell him...” I said and leave.

Maybe I was a little cold, but I don’t want to get attached to that little guy. After getting some beers at the discount store, I head into the forest. I stop near the waterfalls and start drinking. Everything is too quiet, so I close my eyes and focus on my surroundings.

I hear footsteps, numerous footsteps. I concentrate on their scent and recognize that of yesterday’s wolves. Ugh! But they can’t leave me alone! They are too close, I wouldn’t want to transform now, so I decide to use my powers again. I free my mind, and I forget who I am. I just think: “I’m not a wolf!” I repeat it many times in my mind until I manage to put my animal side to sleep.

Five wolves pop up from behind the trees and look at each other watchfully. Maybe they are looking for me for what happened yesterday! One of them notices me sitting on the rock near the waterfall, approaches me trying to smell my scent but that is temporarily off.

“Do you want something here? Because otherwise, I don’t like to be watched!”

I don’t look at his face, but I can see that this wolf is more muscular and taller than the others.

“You’re not from here, are you? What are you doing in the woods alone?” He has an authoritative and strong tone of voice; I’m more than sure I’m talking to the Moon Stone’s Alpha! Damn, it all has to happen to me.

“I’m a nomad, I move around the cities, I came to the woods to find some peace of mind, nothing more, nothing less.” I said, and I hope I have convinced him.

“Why don’t you look me in the eye when I talk to you!”

‘Damn!’ He notices me.

I try to take my time, but he won’t let me; he knelt at my height and trying to look me in the face. If he is really the Alpha, he will understand that I am the she-wolf because my eyes are not like those of an ordinary human being. It’s time I do...

Darren POV

I’m back from my pack, pissed off as hell because that she-wolf seems unconquerable! I hate that female. I’m in with only a pair of jeans when I hear someone come in the direction of my room. By the smell of bitch in heat, I know it’s Amber.

“Didn’t the Alpha Darren hunt go well? I can help you relax if you want!”

“Go away, Amber, I’m not in the mood to fuck you ...”

But I think she didn’t get the message, and even she still stands in front of my eyes.

“Are you so angry because there is a female werewolf who can beat ten male warriors in your pack? Or because she outrun you without effort?”

Well—now I’m even more pissed off!

Quickly I grab Amber by the neck with one hand and slam her on the mattress. She is gasping in search of oxygen and tries to scratch me with her fingernails, but I blocked her hands with the other of my hand.

“You wanted to fuck. right? Well, now we do it my way!” I let go of her neck and rip all her clothes off. I undress and drop the boxes. Now I am completely naked. Amber doesn’t have time to reply that I fucked her hard, I hear her scream, but I don’t care. I continue like this, increasing the speed, but before she can come, I go out. She remained unsatisfied, I see, because she is still on my bed with tears in her eyes and her legs open.

“Don’t stress me out when I don’t ask for it!”

Having said that, I leave my room, enter the guest room and fall into a deep sleep, with the image of a black she-wolf escaping from my hands.

The next morning, I wake up early, gather a large number of omegas, and divide them into teams.

“These two groups go west, you three go north, you east, and the rest come with me!” After giving the orders, we split up, take our animal form, and scour the perimeter.

We have been running for two hours, and I notice that the others are exhausted even if they don’t want to tell me. “Let’s stop! Nearby are the waterfalls. We will rest there!”

“But Alpha we are not tired...”

“Do not disobey my orders!” They look at me gratefully.

We take our human form and go to the waterfalls. Suddenly I sniffed the air and realized a strange smell. I look around, and I notice a girl sitting on a rock with beer bottles in her hand. She doesn’t seem from here, maybe it’s she I’m looking for, but the weird thing is as if she didn’t have a smell at all.

“Do you want something here? Because otherwise, I don’t like being watched!” I said, trying to see her face. What an irritating temper; she noticed me without even turning around, and I can’t see her face.

“You’re not from here, are you? What are you doing in the woods alone?” I notice how she is analyzing me from the tone of my voice. After a pause, she replies,

“I am a nomad, I always move around the cities, I came to the woods to find some tranquility, nothing more, nothing less.”

Yet there is something wrong, and a nomadic girl usually ugly? This one, on the other hand, is a stunning specimen. I must say, I can see her large breasts and long legs very well.

“Why don’t you look me in the eye when I talk to you!” I’m snowing; kneel at her height. I notice she’s biting her lower lip when I’m about to get closer, and she became restless.
