Chapter 10: Plan

“I can do it,” I muttered as I looked at Letty through the mirror in front of me. She combs my hair up to my shoulders.

Letty stopped and then looked me back at the mirror, “It’s the master’s order,” then she continues.

I sigh. I’m not a little girl to have someone accompany me on doing everything. They already helped me take a bath, and right now, only a towel covering my body. What else? Maybe by getting myself dressed, they will even help me do that.

I just sighed and then let her do the thing. I stare at the mirror. Letty’s an aged woman. Probably at the age of sixty’s? I can’t explain. There are some wrinkles on her hands, and they are hanging as she combs my hair.

But when you took a peek at her face, you can see the beauty in it. Actually, there’s also a tiny spot of wrinkles above her nose and under her eyes. I don’t know, but she has this morena color. Something like mixed with white and brown. It was attractive, honestly.

“You should stay put until the master comes,” she suddenly said and then put down the comb on the table below the mirror. She turned her back from me. I looked at her. I noticed that she’s not like other aged women.

Mainly at this age, there will be difficulties walking or even standing upright, but Letty just moves freely like she’s a teenager.

I remembered the last words from Elliott earlier before that maid Thraia interrupted us and brings me to Letty. I know that my hunch is true, most of it. But I didn’t expect Elliott’s reaction when he said those things to me.

There’s something in his voice, a hidden fear. When I looked at him, he became suddenly pale. I wanted to ask more about what he means, but then, that’s when Thraia entered the scene.

I was left by the words “Reign is more ruthless than a devil,” it keeps on repeating in my head, but my eagerness to leave this place was my priority. I don’t care if he’s a devil or a merciless person. I just want to get out of here.

“I’m not persistent enough to wait for your said master. Why would you take orders from that man? Yes, you all need to obey him since he’s your master. You work for him. But I’m not one of his vision that needs to take his orders, and there’s nothing that can stop me from leaving this place,” I calmly said. I don’t know why. For the second time, I just found myself arguing.

I saw how Letty’s shoulder moved, taking a deep breath. She turned in my direction then a warning flashed in her eyes.

“I bet you won’t like it if you’ll gonna escape from here. Also, no one can skip the master’s arms. He’s the absolute ruler of this place,” she then turned around and starts walking. I don’t get what she’s implying, but I know that she’s leaving.

“Where are you going?” I asked, then stands from seating. She just ignored me and then opened the double door in front of her. I forget to notice that we are in this room full of shiny closets and a very spacious place that’s only good for getting dressed or changing clothes.

I know that the master of this home is rich as a duck who poof golds and Reign. I already witnessed one of his hidden personalities, but does it need to offer that every door needs to be huge and doubled?

I was about to take a step when I saw the maids lined up behind the door. When they saw who opened the door, they bowed their heads. I forgot to mention that Letty is the head of the maids, according to Thraia, and she’s the closest successor of Letty’s dismissal.

What a blunt and luxurious term of the successor, “Dress her up and don’t forget the daily routine until the master comes home. Remember the master’s orders if you still want to breathe. Don’t make any mistakes,” Letty commanded.

“Yes, madam,” the maids answered in a synchronized manner. Then after Letty heard them, she walks in between the lined maids.

“Don’t make a mess. Hold your minds,” the maids nodded and bowed their heads till Letty was gone on our sight along with Thraia. I never noticed her not until Letty called her name.

I sighed when the maids starting to enter the room. After they entered, they closed the door. They lined up in front of me without raising their heads.

“You can raise your heads. I’m not someone who has something to do with you, so rest assured and raise your head,” I said, but they didn’t listen.

“It’s the master’s order to treat you as the woman of this home. We can’t do what you want, Miss,” the woman on the first line wearing a black dress said. Well, all of them was wearing a black dress. Except for Letty, she’s wearing a white dress with black laces on the hips.

Master’s orders are everywhere. I guess it’s hard to find someone who can help me get myself out of here. All of these people were attached to that Reign’s order. Is he really someone, as Elliott mentioned? I can actually tell that these maids feared their own master.

One of the women in the back moved and walks towards the doubled shiny closet. She opened it and then stare inside, picking something that’ll suit me. She then turned in our direction. There’s a puzzled look all over her face. She walks until she reached my direction.

Bowing her head then ask, “Would you like to choose a dress for yourself, Miss? I don’t know what suits your taste,” there’s a careful in her tone. I don’t know what to react.

I’m not someone to be cared for like this. I don’t have the position to do so because I’m just like these maids. I can see myself by looking at them. I really wanted them to act naturally because I don’t have the right to act highly either.

What’s on Reign’s mind? I don’t know him. He buys me on that auction, yes. But what’s his plan? Telling his maids that treat me as the woman of his own home. Is he insane?

I never wanted to be here. I just wanted to get myself out of that auction, know who’s behind this, and why I got abducted. Only one thing was inside my mind from the moment I opened my eyes, and that is, thinking of a way to get out of here.

If no one can help me, then I’ll help myself. Elliott said that he’ll be accompanying me for the rest of the week. So, there’s a week before Reign comes home. My goal is before one week before he comes home, I’m not on his turf anymore.
