Chapter Six

"What is it about him?" my friend asks me. "It doesn't seem like he's treating you right." It's a good question, and I find myself at a loss for words fit to answer.

"You're right," I say. "He doesn't treat my right. But that's what draws me to him. It's the way that he acts like he doesn't care, like losing me wouldn't mean anything to him. Like I have to constantly work for his attention. You see, so many guys have tried to chase me, but the only one I want is the one who I have to work to catch."

She wraps her legs around my waist.She whispers in his ear. "Stay."
