Elizabeth was such a tiny little girl sickly all the time. It was miraculous that she survived. When she finally reached the age of thirteen, her sickness was catching up. Once it became apparent, she was going to die; her father carried her into the wilderness and left her in a meadow to die alone. He had been sickened by her since the day she was born.
