It was pitch black and everyone except Elizabeth was fast asleep. She woke up when she could no longer hear the crackling of the fire. Elizabeth didn't really need to sleep, she did it because she enjoyed it. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and her body became very aware they were not alone in these woods. Her eyes scanned the blackness but she couldn't see anything, even with her adept night vision. She got up and began to start the fire back up. She had just started to pick up the stones when she heard movement in front of her, she looked up and saw what seemed to be either Marilyn or Peter crouching toward Nora and Jen. When the person stood straight up and Elizabeth could really see the person she realized it was Marilyn. "Is there a reason you're standing and going to Jen?" Nothing stirred throughout the rest of the night, except for the trees. And as dawn finally came Elizabeth went and hunted something down for the humans to eat. By this time Jen was now just a pile of ash, which when Peter saw her he broke down crying again. Sitting just out of sight was Freya, the little fairy who'd been Elizabeth's best friends for many centuries. She wasn't prepared to meet everyone else yet, not without Elizabeth there. As soon as they passed the gate's threshold Elizabeth and Kohl felt their mortality. And how weak they were. Her eyes became normal human eyes that were green like when she was human. She no longer had fangs and all her unique features of being whatever she was, was gone. In physical appearance, Kohl didn't change at all, but he felt it. Freya's wings disapeared and she was a full sized human. All three them were either examining each other, or examining themselves. "Ahhh, ha ha ha!" Freya squeeled excitedly, "I'm big. Look at me! Kohl said, "and her." He pointed to Elizabeth who was convincingly not looking intimidated. Kohl was calm and cool as he generally was, and Elizabeth was standing tall and firm as she typically did. It was early morning when Elizabeth and Kohl were woke up by buckets of ice water being thrown all over them. Both of them gasped in shock from the cold. "Wake up humans. It's time to get ready for the battle. You must eat and drink now and relieve yourselves. We will be commencing the battle shortly." A centaur they hadn't seen before said tossing them bags filled with fruit. What the fruit was exactly was a mystery. "You girl, you'll go first." A random centaur said to Elizabeth. "You have ten minutes, the healer will escort you to the gate. Say goodbye to your friends. It'll be the last time you see them." He began to walk away laughing. "Here, drink as much of this as you can right now." Christian said hurrying up to her with a canteen of water moments after the guard walked away. "Drink it, hurry because we have to go." Elizabeth took the canteen and began to chug it. "I love you all." Elizabeth said after drinking most of the water, she handed the canteen and what water was left to Christian and began to go with him down the hall to the gate. "You're going to be fine okay? About half way through the night nearly everyone began to moan and groan. Almost like they were making sex noises. Elizabeth walked from person to person confused. Other than Kohl everyone was groaning. She wasn't sure what to do, when she tried to waking them no one would wake up, other than of course, Kohl. Even the little fairy Freya was moaning. Kohl stood up looking at Elizabeth with confusion. "What in the fuck is going on with them?" He asked more in general than to Elizabeth. "I don't know...They sound almost like...they're." She paused a moment. "Having sex." Both of them said in unison. ***** Peter "Hey." Jen's soft voice said, when Peter turned around he saw a beautiful sandy shore pressed up against trees and a beautiful lake. "Okay, so we'll combine most of the bedding and tie them on there and drag. There's too many for carrying." Elizabeth decided, Kohl didn't argue with her and just did it. They irritatingly began dragging the loud, moaning group. The walk was annoying, frustrating and to such a degree both of them were silently considering leaving all of them behind. They were walking for hours and hours without conversation. It seemed as if the conversations were always in a constant state of interruption.
