Her only friend

"Why are you running?" she heard a girly but masculine voice asked and she turned to see who it was.

He was sitting on the bench, her favorite spot precisely, his head was up high glued to to the beautiful and colourful butterflies dancing around the flowers.

His fairly lengthy blonde hair was styled perfectly covering his forehead, his hands were deeper into the pockets of his trousers, the bench was not long enough to contain his tall but lean body.

"Who are you?" She questioned taken aback by his presence.

'No one, rather too many people don't know this place but how come did this stranger find here?' she thought, observing him.

"Hmm who am I? I really don't know," He said, nonchalantly not even darting his eyes away from the butterflies he was watching.

"How did you find this place?" She asked again, not minding the fact that he didn't reply the first question.

    "None of your business!"

"Are you new in this school?"

"Look little girl, stop questioning me like I'm some criminal okay?" He said, glaring at her, "now tell me why you were running,"

Dream hesitated to tell him, she didn't know who he was and she couldn't trust him, he also looked new, she had never seen this face before. But still that doesn't mean she could trust him.

"Maybe I could help," His voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Why should I trust you?" She questioned again, "do I know if you're an assassin posing to be a student to get information or—"

His loud but melodious laughter made her to stop talking.

"I see you've been watching too many soap operas lately," He stated, walking towards her.

What did he mean? Was he following her?, She has indeed been watching so many soap operas and romance dramas for the past few days to get her off her bad mood.

    "Err—"

"We are running out of time, you look like you were in trouble while you ran in, what's up with you?"

    "I—"

"Shhhh they are here," He shushed her, indeed Elena walked into the garden with her gang members behind her.

"Just stand behind me and don't say anything!" He ordered and she did as she was told.

"Dream stop hiding. You know you can never hide from us, you are at the snap of our fingers" Elena smirked, wondering what the identity of the prince charming was.

"Tch! Bullies never cease to end in highschools and the foolish people who runs the school never seems to care" he commented, looking directly into Elena's eyes.

It was obvious that he was not scared of her, of course almost everyone in Prestige Gold high feared her but certainly not this guy standing in front of her.

"I see you have guts," seethed Elena.

He chuckled and bowed, "thank you"

Elena was getting pissed off already, how could he have a way of taunting her in cool hurting manner?.

"I'll distract them you run to the library it's already too late to go to class" He told her and she nodded before running as far as her legs can take her.

"You really have guts Romeo, how could you come back!!" Elena half yelled.

He chuckled, "why would you want to know?, I'm of no use" he stated nonchalantly.

"Shut up you bas—" Emma tried to say before she got interrupted by Zara,

    "It's okay Emma,"

He burst into laughter which made him seem like a mad person before them.

"What's amusing you?" Emma asked, irritated.

"So you've joined the gang too, how nice!" He remarked.

"I don't deal with lunatics," Elena told him and turned to her gang members, "NASTIES!"

"We rule the school!" They chorused and giggled before leaving the garden.

He sighed, "high schools will never change."

Dream sat on one of the library stool, her head buried into the one of the books by Black Phoenix. She stopped reading and started wondering who the guy she met at garden was.

She was sure that he was a new student, the uniform he was wearing made her know he was a senior student but she doesn't know his name.

'Aishh how stupid of me" she yelled at her self.

"What is my princess thinking of?" She heard him say beside her.

She turned, he was sitting beside her with his hands on his jaw, staring at her. She stole a glance and saw him staring at her again, this made her really uncomfortable.

"Uhh—why are you staring at me?" She asked and he smiled.

"Are you a psycho?" She asked again, observing him before burying her head back into the book.

He didn't look like one but he sure acted like one.

He shook his head in reply and Dream remembered that she still don't know his name.

"By the way you still have not told me your name," She noted while turning to look at him.

"My bad! I'm Romeo" He smiled, putting his hand forward for a handshake.

"Dream," she responded, accepting his hand shake.

    "I know,"

"How did you know my name?"

"Err—i heard it from the NASTIES,"

He had hesitated to answer, making Dream to become suspicious of him.

The bell rang signifying the close of school, Romeo and Dream were still in the library chatting.

"I gotta go now Dream," He announced, looking at his wristwatch.

    "Uh me too," She smiled.

They returned the books they were reading and walked to the hallway together.

There were still students in the hallway, chatting and gossiping.

Romeo had mentioned something funny, making Dream laugh really hard. Her laughter drew attention to them and the students began to gossip and murmur amongst themselves.

"Why is she so shameless?" One of the students thought aloud. "She even changed to a regular wear!"

"Earlier she was bullied for flirting with invisible now it's the new mysterious guy!" another commented.

"Why don't she just learn her lesson who once? I feel so sorry for her," The first student said.

"Sorry for who? You're as shameless as she is tch!" The second student said and walked away.

Dream locked the door of her car before she looked round, studying the environment of the small but rich library.

The library was fairly big with medium sized halls with alot of good books arranged in collections. This was the reason why she called the library, rich.

She walked into the library and strolled straight to the librarian's corner, looking for her friend, Jackie.

"Dreeeaaaaammmmmm!" She heard Jackie squealed behind her and before she could turn she felt a warm body on her back, hugging her.

    "Jackie," Dream called out, smiling.

"Mmm," Jackie purred, "I've missed you so much Dream!"

    "Me too Jackie,"

"This is not a fuckin reunion ground! Now get your flat asses to work!" Their boss yelled.

"Not like your ass is as big like ours," Jackie pointed out, grabbing hers and Dream's.

"Oh Jackie not now," whispered Dream, she didn't want any trouble from their boss today.

"Shut up your mouth Jack and get back to work!" The woman yelled, helplessly. The little girl was always on her tail, sapling energy from her at any opportunity she gets.

"Calm down before you damage your wind pipe, not like you are our real boss anyway," She spoke calmly with a smirk on her face.

That was one of the reasons why Dream loved to be her friend and wished she attended her school. But sadly, her parents can't afford to pay for the tuition fees and Dream has offered to pay it many times but she always declined the offer.

"You!" Boss glared and walked away.

The both of them broke into peals of laughter before stopping.

"But truth be told Jackie, you really need to grow some respect for the poor woman," Dream uttered and Jackie shot her a glare.

    "Yes she is our bo—"

"Your boss," Interjected Jackie, "I mean she is not the owner of this place,"

The library is actually privately owned by a rich family no one knew off and was managed by their over controlling boss.

"Yessss," she rolled her eyes, "but still, that doesn't change the fact that she is still superior,"

Jackie raised her hand in mockery surrender before bowing like a servant, making Dream to giggle.

That was it, Dream always find every course to be happy whenever she was with the angel in front of her, she always brought the life out of her.

"Snap out of that daze before that screaming baboon come again," She said, snapping her fingers in front of Dream's face.

"Aishh," Dream groaned, pushing her hand away.

"Lazy ass," Jackie cussed before rolling away the trolley containing books.

"Bye Jack!" Dream beamed, mocking her. It was 6:30pm and it was time to go home after the long evening's work.

"I told you before not to call me that!" seethed Jackie, advancing towards her.

"No, no, no, I don't want that fiery pinch!" She screamed before giggling as Jackie pinched her said.

"That would teach you never to mess with me!"

    "Bleehhh,"

"You imp!" Jackie removed her shoes and raised it, pretending to throw it and Dream closed her eyes, screaming

    "Monster! Monster!"

Jackie sighed and walked away without her noticing.

"Momma?" Dream called out with her eyes closed but there was no response.

"Momma Jackie?" She called again and still no response. She sucked in a deep breath and opened her eyes only to see a figure walking down the well lit street.

"This girl—Tch" she grumbled looking for her keys in her bag.

"Found it!" She said and opened the car door before reclining on its seat.

She wanted to drive home but she remembered that she hardly eats at home, she kicked started her car and drove roughly to where Jackie was.

"You bas—" Jackie wanted to cuss before she saw Dream's face.

"I thought it was someone else," She grumbled, driving rough was one of the things Dream rarely do, she hated it while she loved it.

"Hop in the car, I'm going towards your direction," Dream told her, totally ignoring what she had said.

"What are you doing down there, don't tell me you're going t—"

"Just get into the damn car Jackie!"

Jackie sighed in defeat and walked around to open the passenger's seat.

Dream drove down the street, without uttering a word to Jackie. The car was already getting stuffy and hot like some romance dramas and the both of them were not comfortable with it but still, refused to speak to each other.

"You know Dream, even if you yell at me I'm still going to ask what you're doing down there," Jackie rasped, breaking the ungodly silence in the car.

"I thought you were going to stay mad at me," Dream sighed as she parked in front of the store.

"You know I'll never do that," Jackie smiled ruffling her hair.

They spent the next few hours drinking, eating, chatting and giggling. Dream laughed as Jackie told her how she had beaten up her school's popular bully earlier.

But deep down she wished she could beat up the NASTIES and they'd stopped bullying her.

"Aishh I think we have to run home now," Jackie told her, looking at her broken wristwatch.

"Yeah right," Dream replied packing up the pack of the instant noodles and juices they had consumed.

Dream stopped at the road leading to Jackie's house and bade her goodbye. Dream had handed her a bag filled with groceries to her before she left and Jackie thanked her endlessly with tears in her eyes.

Dream drove back home reminiscing the good moment she just had with Jackie and wished she could laugh and smile like she did the whole day without interruptions, at least for a day.

She sighed as she hooted for the gatekeeper to open the gate. He did and she drove into the garage, parking her car properly.

She got down from the car and sighed a sigh of relief. Her father's favorite car was not in the garage but her mother's was which meant she was free to sleep well tonight.

She beckoned on the gate keeper, greeted him and asked him if her father was home, he told her that he was away for the week.

She smiled and walked happily into the house but her smile was interrupted by her mother's voice,

"I've never seen you smiled so broadly in a long time,"

She turned to face her mother with a cold face, "that's none of your business mom," She told her sternly and started climbing the stairs.

"Come back here Dream! How dare you find home late and still talk to me in a rudely!" She yelled but Dream paid deaf ears, climbing up fast to her room.

She opened the door and collapsed tiredly on the bed,

"It was a really long long day!"

The next few days went by quickly without getting bullied and with Romeo and Dream were getting closer day by day.

Soon it was Friday, Dream happily prepare for school and drove to school, with Doja Cat's "like that" blaring from it's speakers.

She got down from her car with her bag hung on her back. As she drew nearer to school she found students gathered around the fountain, at the middle of the school.

      "I pity the inferior one,"

"I really want to see her reaction, I must record it live!" She heard students say and it dawned on her that the books were hers.

Ignoring the presence of the students, she ran to the fountain and started picking her "floating" notes.

Everyone started laughing and recording her,

"The inferior one had finally showed up!" One student laughed.

She finished picking her notes and walked into the hallway. She also noticed students gather around her locker making her panic.

She ran towards the locker, dropping her notes gently on the floor and everyone in the hallway laughed recording her.

Her locker could be compared to a dumpster as dirt reeked from it, gum was plastered all over the locker.

"Com'on open your beautiful locker!" One of the students yelled.

She sucked in a deep breath and opened the locker, all manner of dirt poured out of the locker as soon as she did.

Everyone laughed recording her reaction and how dirty she looked.

"Your books are with me let's go clean you up," She heard Erica tell her and she shamefully followed her.

Erica led her to the back of the school, together they laid her books to dry. They walked back to the bathroom to clean Dream up.

"Your uniform is really messed up," Erica told her, studying her stained white shirt and violet skirt.

"I'll get you another uniform, just wait for me," She said and walked away.

Dream sighed and rest her body on the wall of the bathroom, thinking about the peace of mind she has been enjoying she had been enjoying since.

Erica came in few minutes later and helped her change. She remembered what happened earlier that day and decided to let Dream know because it seemed like she is not aware of what was happening in the school.

"Err— Did you hear about what happened to Romeo?"

    "No what happened?"
