Chapter one

 • Nicole's POV •

Getting up in the morning was number one on the top ten things I hated, that and snitches and the colour pink. I groaned as my alarm clock rang again for the fourth time. I blew out and got out of bed with a scowl, what a great way to start the my final year at school.

Hi there, my name is Nicole Thompson and I hate everything around me. I'm what society term as a badass or a delinquent as the more civilized people call me. I'm eighteen and I attend ridgeway High, the most elite school in our small town in LA .

How I got into a school like that? well it is all thanks to the huge donations my aunt makes to the school board every month. My parents? Well they're gone. Now if you think this is one of those stories where she looses her family and then shut out the world, you're definitely wrong sweetheart. I hated my parents, I loathed them so I was unaffected by their death especially when they caused it by themselves.

In every high school there's like a food chain, from the jocks and cheerleaders to the geeks and nerds. I'm grouped outside that food chain like I don't exist. I've known some of my classmates since kindergarten but I assure you that none of them could give a detailed description of how I look, and I'm totally fine with that. I have no interest in knowing the self centered and arrogant Jocks and the fake and plastic cheerleaders or the judgemental nerds that overruns the school. I was better off as a lone wolf.

I got out of bed and did my morning routine which consists of me taking a shower and then slipping on the first thing I see in my closet which consists of all blacks, it was the only colour that truly express me. I ran a brush through my jet black hair as it was my shield for survival in ridgeway. "they can't judge you if they can't see you" that's my motto and I have lived by it from day one. I was ready for school.

I went downstairs and the maid Gladys was busy as usual. I walked Past her

" morning. aunt out. Food. Dining table." She said without looking up from what she was doing

I nod at her even when she couldn't see me and made my way to the dining table. It's always been like this ever since I came to live with my aunt after my parents death. At first she tried to be nice but I knew it was all fake, She gave up after a few failed attempts. I know what you're thinking, that I make it difficult for people to help me or know me? But all my life, people only make an effort to know me when they'll get something in return or out of pity like Gladys. And I didn't need that, I didn't want that.

I sat at the unnecessarily large dining table which was even more quiet now that Charlie's gone and ate my breakfast in silence. I got up after finishing my food and slug my backpack over my shoulder and made my way out of the house. Walking past the fleets of cars I went through the gigantic gates while waving bye to the security man.

The reason I'm walking to school has nothing to do with not having a car, I just got a Porsche from my aunt for my seventeenth birthday a few months ago. The morning wind and chill are among the few things I love.

I walked along the sidewalks, head down, backpack slugged and headphones on. The sun was reflecting on something causing me to squint my eyes, I looked up and saw a very huge mansion now sat in place of the abandoned mill factory, the building was bigger than my aunt's house and hers was the biggest in town.

I stared at the magnificent structure for a whole minute before I got over it's beauty. It was flooded with exotic cars. "Aunt's gonna have some real competition" I thought before resuming my journey to hell, sorry school.

After ten minutes of peace, I finally arrived at school but it was more chaotic than usual. They were a lot of screaming blonde girls with faces caked with make up and clothes worn to expose rather than to cover up. The whole place was like a slut concert.

"What the fuck is going on" I asked no one in particular.

A bubbly girl who looked like yellow barfed on her replied rather too loudly

" Tyler's coming!!! Oh I can't Wait!! " she practically screamed at me.

"Who the fuck is Tyler? " I asked already irritated by how loud she was being.

Everyone within hearing range around me gasped and looked at me like I just called our horrible gym teacher nice.

"You don't know Tyler!" She screeched with eyes bulging out of her head like they were going to pop out any second.

"Should I ? " I asked with irritation evident in my voice.

"Of course! He's the biggest superstar in the whole world right now and he's a hottie too" she concluded her eyes all dreamy.

I looked at her like she was crazy because they all were. Coming out so early in the morning with abnormal makeups and screaming at the tops of their lungs for a less better version of Justin Bieber Is just fucking stupid.

Normally school was annoying but this was just fucking insane. The squeals and screams and fangirling was killing me.

I shoved my way through the freakish bodies and made my way to the library hoping it would be free of all the chaos of the school and for once the universe heard me.

The library was quiet, it was totally void of human activity, just how I like it, I made my way to a desk in between the book shelves and just sat down with my headphones on. After a few minutes, curiosity got the best of me and I turned on my iPhone, tapping on the G****e Icon,I tapped the search button and typed "Tyler" and pressed the search icon. Due to our schools shitty network I waited a couple minutes before the results were loaded.

It read "Results for Tyler"

Tyler miller or better known by his stage name meetme is an Award...

I clicked on it and a whole page with his career history was displayed. He had won six Grammy's in two years, top the billboard charts a few dozen times, also performed at the BBMA's, EMA's, MMA's and others. He sold out stadiums on his last tour. And he was eighteen and single, they placed emphasis on the word "single". I rolled my eyes and scrolled down. There was an article which read

" ʙɪʟʟɪᴏɴᴀɪʀᴇ ᴀɴᴅ sᴜᴘᴇʀ sᴛᴀʀ ᴛʏʟᴇʀ ɪʀᴏɴsɪᴅᴇ sᴇᴛ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟᴇᴛᴇ ʜɪs sᴇɴɪᴏʀ ʏᴇᴀʀ ᴀᴛ ʟᴏᴄᴀʟ ʜɪɢʜ sᴄʜᴏᴏʟ"

I guess that explained the lunatics outside. I scrolled further down and saw his latest album, I pressed play and increased the volume which was a huge mistake, I yanked my headphones off and massaged my head trying to lessen the pounding I was hearing. After recollecting myself from the horrible incident I turned off my phone and wiped the history. I would never be able to forget what I just heard. The first song I listened to was very loud I couldn't hear a single thing, it was like a child hitting a tin lid with a stick. The only words I could make out were money and baby. How do humans enjoy this! How can they call it music ?

I looked at the wall clock situated at the top of the librarian's desk and it indicated 7:46am. I better make my way to class, 'cause the earlier I get there the lesser the attention I'll get.

On my way to class, I tripped on my shoelaces which must have come undone during my journey through the sea of human bodies Some minutes ago, I fell hard on the floor, face down. Cursing at the universe for going against my plan of less attention, because now everyone in the hallway was staring at me.

"This is new..girls fall at my feet but they don't do it literally "

I heard, the voice definitely belonged to a male, a very cocky male.

I looked up to glare at the bastard but gaped at him instead. It was Tyler miller in all his glory, he had on this disheveled bed hair thing going on at the top of his head with silk black hair, brown eyes with hints of black, and pink full lips which were curled up in an arrogant smirk...

"Stop eye raping me."

People snickered around us and I lost it. I had spent my life trying to stay away from the public's eyes and here this asshole was giving them a reason to talk about me.

I stood up and shot him the meanest glare I could muster and he flinched.

"I didn't fall at your feet asshole, I tripped" I snapped at him

"Lame excuse but I'm impressed so I'll give you my number" he said amusement visible in his eyes.

"Uh?.. What was that? My eardrums exploded this morning after listening to your song" I said already getting tired of this.

They where "ooh's" and "ouch" from the crowd that has now formed in the hallway, while some girls sent me death glares.

It took some seconds for Tyler to recover from my comment. He composed himself and flashed me a billion dollar smile that left the girls around me in a daze before replacing it with an arrogant smirk

"Oh I see what's going on here, you're the schools badass... So tell me what happened? Boyfriend trouble? Daddy issues? Messed up parents?"

He counted while everyone laughed.

I just stood there staring at him, all the emotions I had been holding inside where out. my next action surprised my own self, It was something I never did, something I stopped doing! A tear slid down my face.

I wiped it away furiously and grabbed Tyler by the collar, pulling him closer to me. His eyes went huge at my sudden action and our close proximity.

"You don't know shit about me"

I said coldly and calmly.

I then let go of his collar and matched to my class, eyes cold and void.

Tyler didn't just hit a nerve, he broke one.

Everyone dispersed slowly, murmuring to friends and making their way to class.

Tyler stood there still shook by what just happened.
