Chapter 4

I rolled my eyes. It's Olive, the rude girl from the club. I groaned. "What the heck are you doing here?"

She hissed. "I should be asking you that" she yelled.

I groaned. This girl is just too aggressive for my liking. "This is my school, ok?. If there is anyone new here. It has to be you"

Ella chuckled. "Come on, Olive. It's your first day here. You shouldn't be causing a scene"

I rolled my eyes. So she's new here. Olive stared dangerously at me for a while. I wasn't moved by her looks. I stared back at her.  "Pray we don't cross-part again, cause if we do. I'll break you," she said. My eyes widened. Is this girl threatening me?. She walked past me, hitting me in the process. I could feel tingling. She stopped moving and stared at me. My wolf was happy and it was like it might jump out of my body soon. I rolled my eyes. She can't be my mate right?. We were both lost staring at each other and I could bet I saw sparkles in her eyes. Ella cleared her throat, jolting us back to reality.

I rolled my eyes. She hit me for the second time, this time harder. I groaned. "Hey!!". She ignored me and dragged Ella with her. I rolled my eyes. There's something about this girl, that I don't seem to understand. I kept staring at her until she was out of sight. Her scent still fills my nostril. I sighed. Nigel burst out into waves of laughter and I hissed.

"Where the hell do you know her from?" He asked

I hissed. "It's a long story"

"Tell me every detail of it"

"You will have to ask the g****e search engine for that" I answered and walked out on him

He ran after me. "Hey!!". I ignored him and walked into the class. Some girls waved at me while others were ogling.

A few minutes later, Olive walked into the class with Ella. "Hi, Nolan" Ella waved

I smiled and waved back at her. "Isn't she cute?" Nigel whispered

I furrowed my brows. "Who?"

"The Olive girl"

I hissed. "And aggressive too"

He chuckled. "You haven't told me how you guys met"

I rolled my eyes and picked up a textbook. "What are we suppose to have now?"

"You're ignoring me? Huh?"

I stood up. "I think I need to get something from my locker," I said and walked out of the class. I could hear Nigel groaned but I care less.

**

It was time for lunch. Most of the students were out of the class, leaving me, Nigel, and Olive. Nigel was busy with his phone. While Olive was writing down some things. With the look on her face, I knew she was finding whatever she was doing difficult. I decided to offer her a hand. I stood up. Nigel raised his head. "Hey, where are you going?. Ain't we supposed to wait for Bella?"

I rolled my eyes. Nigel and his questions!!. "We are waiting for Bella"

"And where the heck were you going before I stopped you?"

I pointed at Olive. "To help her out"

He hissed. "And when did you become a helper? Nolan?"

"Can't you see she's finding it difficult"

"I know. I can see it vividly. But what I don't understand is how that is your problem?"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm just trying to be nice"

He dropped his phone on the table. "Tell me. Is there something I'm missing out, about this girl?. Have you started growing feelings for her?"

I chuckled. "Are you kidding me?". I sat down. "Look at her attitude. Is she the kind of girl I want?"

"No, that's the surprising thing about it. Nolan, what's going on?"

I chuckled. "Come on, it isn't a crime to help right?"

"No, but are you sure you ain't doing it for some purposes?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yes"

He stared at me suspiciously. "No strings attached"

I chuckled. "None, I could think of". He sighed. "Can I go now?"

"You can. But when she breaks your heart. Don't come crying"

I rolled my eyes. "I never said I was going there to ask her out"

"I never said that too"

"Whatever" I murmured. I left Nigel and went to meet her. "Hey". She raised her head. "I can see you're finding it diffi..."

She cut me short. "I never asked for your opinion"

I groaned. "Are you always like this?". She furrowed her brows. "I mean rude, sassy.."

She placed her hand on the table and batted her lashes. "I think you've overstayed your welcome"

"What?"

"You heard me and I'm sure you ain't deaf". I rolled my eyes. "Get out!!" She yelled. I rolled my eyes. "Get..."

"You don't have to shout, ok?. I'll leave". I left her and went to meet Nigel who was staring at us. I knew he was going to laugh. It's just a matter of time. He didn't let me lie, cause he started laughing the very moment I got to our seat. I glared at him.

"I told you it was a bad idea"

I hissed. "It wasn't like I'm asking her out"

"Does she look like someone who cares?"

I groaned. "Gosh!. I feel humiliated". Nigel laughed. "Stop laughing. It ain't funny"

He closed his mouth with his hands. "I just can't help it"

I hissed. "And where is that mate of yours?". He giggled. "She should be here by now. What's keeping her?"

"Hey, don't pour your vexed anger on my mate"

I hissed. "If she isn't here in the next five minute, I'm leaving"

He chuckled. "Talking of the devil". I turned towards the door. Bella was walking in our direction. I smiled. That's my cousin. I like the way she carries herself.

"Hey cousin. Hey love". She took turns to peck us but spent time kissing her mate.

I groaned. "There are singles here, remember?". I stared at Olive to see her reaction. Surprisingly, she was staring at me too. But took her eyes away when I turned. I giggled.

"Is someone in love?" Bella asked

I furrowed my brows. "Who is in love?"

She chuckled. "You of course. Do you see how you've been staring at the boy over there. Don't tell me...". I looked at Nigel and we began to laugh. "What?. Am I missing something?"

"He's a girl. Sorry, she's a girl" Nigel answered. I was too busy laughing to think of the best answer that suits her question.

She narrowed her eyes. "Are you for real?". I nodded. She chuckled. "I suspected when I entered. She's too cute to be a boy"

Nigel rolled his eyes. "What do you mean?. That guys ain't cute?"

I giggled and relaxed. Another hot couple's fight is about to begin. "No, I was just saying she looks like a girl..."

"That doesn't justify, your words"

"Come on, baby. I don't mean it that way"

I rolled my eyes. Boring couples conversation. I stood up. "When you're done arguing you know where to find me"

Nigel mind-linked, me. "Hi, Nolan. We ain't done talking"

I hissed. "She's your mate, not mine. Sort yourself out"

**

The rest of the day at school was not the way it used to be for me. I couldn't concentrate in class. I spend most of the time staring at Olive. She glared at me at every slight chance she gets, but I was too lost staring at her, to be bothered about that. Nigel kept nudging me. When it was time to go home, my wolf whined. He doesn't want to stop staring at our supposed mate. I wasn't even sure she's our mate yet. But this feeling, I'm having right now, is making me feel she have to be my mate. "Enough of the staring, let's go home," Nigel said

I rolled my eyes and stood up. "I wasn't staring"

"You were"

I hissed. "Meet me in the car"

He dragged me back and I glared at him. "What are you hiding from me?"

I groaned. "Nothing"

He hissed. "Nolan, I know you too well. You're hiding something"

I rolled my eyes. There are lots of things hidden from you, Nigel. "I'm not" I answered

"Is she your mate?"

I rolled my eyes. "Noo"

He laughed. "She's your mate"

"She isn't"

"Yes, she is". He pointed at my face. "You see this look, I can still remember it"

"I don't know what you're talking about"

He laughed. "Two years ago. When I do help you sneak out of the packhouse". I groaned. "I don't think she knows you are the one she saved some years back"

I hissed. "She isn't the same. A lot has changed about her"

He chuckled. "Someone has finally accepted the truth"

I furrowed my brows. "That what?"

"That she's your mate".

I hissed. "She's too aggressive"

He chuckled. "Does she know yet?"

"That what?"

"That she's your mate". I shook my head. "I think you should tell her"

I hissed. "What difference will it make?"

"You never can tell"

"I can't"

"Come on, you can"

"I think it's a bad idea"

"It isn't trust me"

I sighed. "I trust you. I will tell her tomorrow"

He laughed. "That's my boy"

**

When we got back to the packhouse, I had to rehearse, on how I will tell her she's my mate. I kept pacing around the room trying to get the perfect words to say. I could hear a phone ringing but it wasn't my phone. "It has to be the other one I usually keep in my wardrobe. I picked the phone up as checked the caller. I groaned. I guess I will have to rehearse tomorrow. Right now, work calls.
